At least your wife said no to the Flux Capacitor service. Even though this is important when going 88 MPH.

This. I prep my wife every time she takes her car in lol. Under 80 000 km on new car and she has been told she needs a brake flush at least twice......

A wise person once said about help/expectations:
“If you ask a fish to hand you a newspaper, don’t complain that it’s wet”.

I don’t “send” my wife anywhere. She’d chew my ass out if I’d try to send her to do something for me. But if I “ask” her, she’s usually there for me. I’m happy with that arrangement

Well at least it’s done. Dealers overcharge but they check things that a regular oil change place doesn’t. Such as recalls etc.

It is definitely worth learning how to do the regular maintenance. Not looking down at you at all. I just recently learned...and to my surprise...its easy. Also, now I know it was done well and using the products I think are the best. No one does work as well as you would. Youtube education

Imagine if your wife sent you to go buy a dress and you bought the wrong one, wasted more money, and then she yelled at you?

Thats what you did to her. She is a woman. Unless she is into cars you sent her on a suicide mission.

Good chance the air conditioner cleaning thing was not done. I suspect my dealer did not change the oil filter. I had fluid filmed my skid plate. The bolts seemed undisturbed and the fluid film was not smudged. I can't prove it but...

    Buahahahaha!

I would be more worried about screwing that up!

My wife already knows I would have lots of questions...by the time she answered all my questions, she would say, "never mind".

He did say that the dealer took her for a ride, so it'll show in only a bit of time, or an easy test will tell right now.

    ROFL - she's a woman... therefore she's an idiot ???...
    Dude... really ..... duuuuuude

    Oh... wait... I see you're from Flori-duh ??? LOL
    That explains it.

OP should be annoyed with the dealer, not his wife ( my opinion )...
I'd go to the dealer, go to the parts dept and get them to give you a print-out
of the 'cost' of the filters, and if truly lower than what the service dude charged
act like they made a mistake and ask for a 'correction' on the cost with paperwork
    to back you up.

Yeah, assuming a woman is not capable of handling this situation is very short sighted. People are people, but sending her off to do this if she was not prepared to handle it was the OP's fuck up. Buy her some flowers and tell her it is no big deal as it really is not that big a deal! It's not like she came back with a $1,000 repair bill here.

Your lucky, i have do drive to the recycling ctr, to get rid of my waste oil where they have large containers to pour it in. Then you have to sign in your name, address, and how much oil you brought.

Idk why but this all makes me think of the scene from The Office where the lady’s car won’t start in the parking lot and Andy looks under the hood and says it’s a leaky spark tube and it’s totaled…

You're too dumb too understand what I wrote. Plenty of women know nothing about cars and are very smart.

But its a matter of principle if you know your getting hosed by the dealer, yet your capable of doing your own oil change right. Besides being retired i just order filters when a good deal online with free shipping...they come right to my door. As far as oil, i buy it on sale at wally world when shopping for other items. I'll agree disposing of the old oil is the biggest pita. I use to take a short drive to my buddies shop, and bring the old oil where he'd use it to heat his shop in the winter having one of those large waste oil furnaces, but claims the synthetics keep fouling his furnace, so he doesn't want them anymore.

Saying low power steering fluid is a safety concern is a bit of a stretch? Power steering is a luxury. You can still steer without it.

Service guys have a right to make money, too. Sure, it may only take “2 minutes” to access the filters. But how long did it take to get the truck staged, on a lift, paperwork, etc? They just go by what the book calls for anyways.

Sure it sucks, but it’s widely known dealership service centers are expensive and will up sell the hell out of you. So you should have gave your wife clear instructions to say no or to call you first.

    Good luck!
