About 25 years ago my dad had a Vermeer round baler, he was baling on the neighbors property and when he got to the last bale he left it in the baler to bring home with him like he always had. He started down their driveway and noticed smoke, by the time he got down to the shop it was on fire. A bearing had went out and he didn't know it. My brother and I yelled at mom to call the FD and we got dad to dump the bale and we unhooked it from the tractor so he wouldn't lose it too. We had the fire out by the time the FD got there.

Dad contacted the insurance company, they sent him a check. Never even came and looked at it. Dad put it up for sale (cheap) and a guy came and bought it, said the same thing happened to his and he was fixing it and needed parts.

Part of me wants to redo one of those, another part of me says "hard no!".

    $15k seems stupid steep!

    $1.5k is more reasonable.

If I already had one and needed some parts, it would have to be cheap. The tracks/undercarriage and boom arm are all that may be any good. I wouldn't trust any part of that engine with the heat it took.

i know prices have gone up but that might just be a tad to much.

If the seller is in no rush to sell some fool might come along and pay in cash.

Stranger things have happened. Though never to me! i would end up paying to have it hauled away!
