I just picked up a Are Mx over the weekend and it has windoors. My question is has anyone here every drove with them open. Would love to throw my dog in the back and leave one windoor open while I drive.

The vibrations and jolts will probably destroy the hinges a lot quicker that way.

Also, depending on how the struts mount to the window frame, they can get ripped off or damaged easily. Most of the mounts are just riveted to the thin aluminum. I have an older shell with windoors and all of the strut mounts are loose because the rivets widened the holes. Eventually they are going to come out, which means I have to remove the glass to reinstall them.

If you came up with a way to support the door with a brace, then it might work out better.

If you could figure out a way to just crack it open, rather than drive with it all the way up, that would be a lot better. I would think a small block of wood pinned in there, keeping it open an inch or 2, and maybe bungee one of the latches to a rail tie-down or something to keep pressure against it.
