How big of a ride did the dealer take my wife on.

Naw naw I understand completely what you meant... women simply cannot know anything about anything mechanical.
Perhaps that is true in Flori-duh.

But they are out there, take my wife for example, she was a jet-aircraft-mechanic and worked on fighter jets engines.
She can run circles around most men when it comes to electrical, plumbing, framing, and general construction.
Heck she runs circles around me I just hold the other end of the tape measure and hoof the lumber and pickup whatever she needs at Home Depot.

Oh and the real killer is this.... she has 3 Master's Degrees and is a top professor at a major university too...

    Built me this grill-hut...

    upload_2022-5-3_10-25-52.jpg

My daughter is getting her second Master's degree on Saturday. She just yanked the head-unit out of her Jetta, replaced it
and installed a backup camera too. The little whipper-snapper....

But I digress - OP is probably sorry for his mistake and we all make them.

For me: just another reason NOT to go to any dealer for standard service.

For what it’s worth, I’ve back halved and four linked my Tacoma and I’ve never done an oil change on it myself. It’s not worth my time and doesn’t interest me. Three vehicles all the same way. Tractor, dirt bikes, generator, etc. I do myself only because it’s more trouble to take it to someone else to do it. To each their own. Good luck OP.

Without photo of the wife unit, determination of who is at fault is impossible.

But I'm willing to bet there will be volunteers to console her and tell her that only an asshole would put her in that position and then chastise her for not meeting expectations. There are plenty of substandard women available everywhere, if you are fortunate enough to have a fine dedicated loving wife that pulls on the rope with you not against you, you should rethink who's the asshole.

Imagine being that mad for something under $500. I first read and thought it was $3865. Sheesh man.

The "yelling" which you freely admit to doing at your wife is probably an undersell of that, too. She's the one who got ripped off. Twice. Once at the dealership, once a long time ago.

She probably thought she was doing the right thing. After all it says “TOYOTA” on the building right? And they even give you free coffee…

Dealerships are highly trained in sales and every customer interaction they have is an opportunity for them. The pitch usually involves some type of scare tactic involving “preventative maintenance” and “peace of mind”. The dealership is not your friend. Their one and only job is to separate you from as much money as you let them.
Follow Toyotas recommendations in the manual, not the dealers.
Now you both know for next time.

I see reading comprehension isn't your strong suite. He said she is a woman, a totally accurate statement, he also said unless she knows about cars is a suicide mission, again a totally accurate statement regardless of what sex the person is. You are the one that added the "woman must not know about cars bit".

I like how he said "look at what my wife made", its like some white guy saying something racist, then saying, its ok I have black friends.

He thinks that defending women against imaginary foes on tacomaworld is gonna get him something. Should spend time with his kids and wife instead of posting here.

Just a reference to the state of mind of some people, an example of the same style of behavior.

There are far better ways than that kind of reference.

A few, mainly added skids. I like leaving the suspension alone. I drive forest service dirt roafs in the desert west extremely extremely too fast. Toyota nailed this suspension going 65 across desert terrain. Changing it is dumb unless you have a specific need like crawling or mud.
Oh my God bro... just be glad it was a financial screw over. When I read the title of your post my vision of this thread was far more shady.

It’s easy for some to use certain groups as an example but won’t dare touch others.
