Door Locks

Hey guys.
Not sure if this has been addressed somewhere else.

I can unlock my truck (and all the other doors) when I put my key in the driver door key slot.

But I can not unlock anything when I put the key in the passenger door key slot.

Is there a DIY fix to resolve this or do I need to get a locksmith, or worse, go to the stealership?

Yes.

 

does the door unlock than quickly lock again or does nothing happen, like its not passing the detent.

 

The key turns but nothing happens. No click, or anything.

 

try lubricating it and working it back and forth while locking and unlocking from the inside.

 

Sprayed some lock lube into the keyhole. I was able to get it to turn to the right and lock the doors.
But it wouldn't move at all to the left to unlock the doors.
I opened and closed the door a few times so I could continue trying the key wiggle/switch switching.
Now the key won't turn in either direction on the passenger door.

 

is that a dry lube?

 

It says it is, but it comes out of the can as a liquid.

 

ya if you use too much dry lube it can clog things up, just try a sparing amount of wd40 or equivalent and just keep working it and it should loosen up.
