I don’t like bikes on the road as it is and these are just plain scary.
Can’t see them and they can’t see you.
Had so many close calls with regular bikes let alone those things…
Just another obstacle to avoid running over when they think they own the road..

Does it have lights? That or a big ass flag to let people know you are below.

I've been hit twice by bikers. T-boned by one running a stop sign, and then once when I stopped at a stop sign to make a right turn and the guy passed me on my right thinking he could beat me just as I turned.

    Be careful...

Glad we're not the only ones with Orioles. We have one pair so far, right on schedule. We were ready.

Glass guys came with window. They weren't going to install it, but I said I don't do THAT, and they called the office. All done.

Show off. I can't even break 100, unless it's the sideways measurement of my slice.

    :jellydance::jellydance::jellydance:

We had Orioles for ONE Spring. After the big Bastrop fire in the pines. I didn't know they even stayed there. But they stopped by looking for alternates. I covered the patio table with oranges and jellies, on orange plates for a week. We got to see two. But it was worth it.

Well maybe it's my loss of cognitive abilities. Could be that at my age, I'm math impaired or can't remember all the shots and so my score is much lower.

The only shots I don't count anymore are the truly disgusting, can't believe that crap, and I'm doing it again! But, not with others, of course!

Yeah, I' quoting myself so you don't have to do do-overs.
OK, so if you Google THIS particular thing, you will find very little, except a TW from @GHOST SHIP , so, props to you sir!

So, why? After all this work? That's as clean as this old stuff will get. Sick of it.

You are NOT tucking stuff into old inserts. No matter the trim tool, not happening. So, you take off the door panels, AND,

That's right. The panel is heat staked in place. He used a 3/8" Speed bit - I used a 7/16" after trying the 3/8". He had important words....PATIENCE, PATIENCE, PATIENCE.
You will bork at least one on each attempt. Not to worry, they are not all needed for support.
After cleaning, I used a #8 screw. 1/2" to start, 3/4" at worst. But. PATIENCE AND CHECK AS YOU GO. I tipped through in a few spots, but, not really visible at a couple feet. And, that happened with 1/2"! The BEST screw is #6, 1/2" tops' because you can easily max out the stakes. JUST DO IT GENTLY, CHECK EACH PROGRESS. Use some double sided tape to hold the insert in position, fasten a couple screws, and turn over and smooth as you go.

Aaaaaand repeat 3 more times. Sorry for the detail, my mind is on my Digest feed! SO, what do we get?

And you know why I do all this? Because it's LBR's 15'th Birthday!!! :taco::kona::dancingbacon::broccoli::dancingbacon::kona::taco:

Glad you found it useful Kurt. I made that repair several years ago and it’s still holding strong. From the looks of it, you should get a long service life out of your effort.

At least I didn't have to do the fiberglass! When the stuff stretches out in the Texas heat, I will know what screws to have on hand for a simple adjustment. Thanks for posting what was an aggravation, so we could all learn something!

It has plenty of lights! The Velomobile has turn signals, taillights, and brake lights. Since I am so low in it, I can not use my gloves to indicate those maneuvers, so I have all the lights installed.

It is about the size of a refrigerator on its side. Not something you see every day.

I see plenty of stupid cyclists every day.

At stoplights, if there is a cycling lane and I am going straight and a long line of cars, I will ride up the right side but make eye contact with someone in a small sedan and motion "I'm going straight through" then pedal like crazy to clear that intersection. I'm the first to recognize if they are driving an F150, they will never see me, so I know I am invisible and practice defensive cycling.

My latest helmet is high viz yellow-green. The flag helps in parking lots. Thankfully on the road, most motorists aren't sure what to think of the "weird wheelchair" and give me a good amount of room. I always run lights front and rear (bright blinky during our Texas sun days, but dim and solid at night so I don't disturb motorists, and they can tell there is something on the road).

The photo is from when I did the Santa Cruz Triathlon. Closed roads, but could have used fog lights that morning! Swim, bike, run. Not the fastest, but I finished and didn't drown.

I take it safely on the road, head on a swivel, and still need to care for my wife and dogs.

For me, exercise is life. The more active I am, the harder I push myself and the slower my Parkinson's Progresses.
