As I posted yesterday, I received my unit really quickly, surprisingly so. After receiving, a bit like a kid at Christmas, I immediately started unboxing it. (Very impressed with the packing) Took everything out and it looks really good, except the installation instructions. They consist of a small pamphlet that is difficult to read and follow because if both size and print quality. Yes, I know there are YouTube videos but printed instructions I can follow while installing would be nice.

So, my question is; Does anyone have full size printed installation instruction either scanned or PDF they can send me? At 75 my tired old eyes simply cannot read this little pamphlet very well. I would be very appreciative.

I’m in the same boat. The mass of wires and very scant installation instructions is, well, unsettling. But, I will give it a go and, hopefully, my blood pressure will no get boosted.

Thank you! Helpful and it does look great! Which site did you order it off of? I noticed it's on Amazon, aliexpress, and aucar site.

Nice to hear Aucar worked out well for you, and it does look great! Nice refresher for our older trucks - I was a bit on the fence but your post helps. Thanks.

Well, unit received and installed yesterday …………. all day. One of the more frustrating things I have ever undertaken. Admittedly, it’s probably just me. I’m 75 so this electronic/computer stuff is a bit out of my generational experience. Even at that, though, I find the diagrams and scant installation instructions to be woefully lacking and borderline useless. While the You Tube videos helped immensely (thank you!). But I still ran into things that were just not there.

But, I did finally get it in and partially functioning. But, I’ve got more bugs than a $20 motel room.

I’m going to keep playing with it but I may end up seeking professional help to debug it. Or take it out and put the original unit back in.

The most confusing bug so far involves Blue Tooth pairing with my cell phone. It will pair up just fine but then the AC fan speed fluctuates 2-3 time and the Blue Tooth connection is lost.

The other thing is, when I touch the Navigation button all I get is a blank screen. I thought this unit had onboard GPS date for offline use but apparently not, at least from the way it’s acting. Today Zi’m going to try and set up Apple Car Play.

    I’ll let you know.

New Navigation DVD/CD/TV/AV/Bluetooth Stereo and seat mod spacers, 1" hubcentric spacers, seat heaters....
I believe you have to tell them at time of purchase to load up maps for your specific country/area. They will load the maps for you prior to shipping (free)...

The only choice given when I ordered it was with/without JBL. Description clearly said “built in off line maps”. If they’re there I can’t find them.

I did get Apple Car Play to work so now I can download APPS. Getting better but very slow going and confusing.

Is the Nav button just a shortcut to launch an app? I don't have one but I'm trying to guess how it might behave, and the possibility to be remapped into something useful to individuals.

Completely aside, do any of you with a unit have a "nice"? audio setup? Like near the higher end Focals, JL Audio, etc. I'm curious how sound quality is through good components. Are preamp outs 5V? That kind of thing. I've got an older excelon head unit that has great sound quality but is starting to show its age in connectivity

I also noted that Aucar has some "Gen2/Gen3.1/etc" units for other cars that have Android 10 and more memory 8G RAM/256GB flash. Makes me want to wait for that to come to the vertical screen Tacoma setup. Their labeling is terribly inconsistent so you have to hunt around some to figure out what is going on.

Voyager28 brutal experience reminded to ask how the install went?
Did you have to buy anything extra for the head unit to get it to work in the older tacoma?
I did notice a review on Amazon that said they needed to buy an antenna/radio adapter that is apparently required for their 06 taco.

your posts makes me nervous... best of lucks on the bugs. Does seem like a lot of money to spend to be riddled with such issues.
