    Hi I'm Chris from South Hadley.

    I just got my first Tacoma, a 2022, DC, TRD OR, SB, MT at the beginning of the month but I've been tooling around the 413 in older Toyota trucks since 2006 when I migrated east from Washington State. Glad to see there are a few locals here on TW!

    There are a lot of things I want to do to the new truck but money and time are going to delay most of those plans a bit. I would really like to get a cap installed prior to next winter though and I'm hoping someone can recommend a good semi-local dealer. I'm probably going to go with Leer or A.R.E. and I know Killam in CT sells both of those and Cap and Hitch in W. Springfield sells Leer. Anyone have experience with them? Is there anywhere else nearby? I'm not necessarily opposed to traveling farther on a really good recommendation but the closer to home the better.

    Nice to meet all of you.

    Thanks! I'm leaning towards a Leer myself so I'm glad to hear you're happy with it. Did New England Cap and Hitch do the install or did you do it yourself? Any issues with leaks?

    No issues with leaks, no. They were great and it really isn't hard to get it on your truck yourself with a couple of people to help you. It is best to have them get it on for you since they have the equipment to do it. It is only attached by 4 points. I do have a solid door on the driverside and sliding doors on the passenger side, but the 2 things I wished I did was put win-doors on the passenger side instead of the sliding windows and I really wish I hadn't have them put the rack on. The rack that I got was $500 and it was only a "ladder rack" style. It only have 4 points on the top of the cap where it attaches. I wished I waited and put the rack channels on the cap instead, do it myself, and spent that money on a Victory extruded aluminum rack. I had to make my own instead. I do love mine but it would have been cheaper and easier in the long run.
