My co worker installed one from Amazon, let me tell you whatever he did , he didn't do it correctly and water leaked in and down the wall of the interior and grew black mold under the rug, the truck was trashed inside.
Make sure it is sealed correctly.

 

I painted my EZ Pass black because I'm that ridiculous. The white went against my black and green theme.

Damn, you guys get a plastic module? In Texas we just get a sticker for our windows with an embedded thing in it to scan.

 

I added a decal as well. Would like to find one that says "Rocket Fuel Only", but until then...

 

You better go check it still works those are sensitive, if you block the transponder in anyway they don't register. i like the idea, i have a black on black theme and i hate the white thing there. I will be painting mine for sure...

 

Honestly I'd prefer the sticker, the module is pain to have, in the beginning when they first came out they were Bigger Like 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" square about 1/2" thick and white.

 

Done a little more cutting on my front bumper and a little welding on the hitch and added some shackles.

 

Clean cuts! Very nice.

 

I was a little concerned about that. I googled it and found that a lot of people do it and haven't had any issues. Fingers crossed it does work. I used to put it in my sunglasses holder and pull it out each time I passed a station, but I have forgotten to do that a few times.

Do you guys register your car to those passes? In california you're supposed to have a transponder, but if you go through without one or it doesn't register they just pull the plate info and bill it to the registered owner. I know on my wife's new car we didn't even add the temporary plate to my account and I got a notice that they added it to my account for me. I'm tempted to just not use the transponder at all since they bill the registered owner anyway.

 

Texas is better in so many ways... Wish Cali would just clone your politicians and it would be the best place ever

 

My oem light was over torqued at the factory. One bolt came loose and contacted Toyota but they said I am out of warranty. That was before the recall came out. So I just sealed it with rtv sealant for two years and it did not leak.

I sealed this light with the same sealant and this time it has the trim ring that Toyota installed as part of the recall. This light will leak over time if you do not put sealant. I am guessing your co worker did not put any sealant around the light gasket.
