    I drove to SLC on my way to The Maze in Canyonlands NP and stopped an Bonneville Salt Flats. It was pretty wet with standing water so I left my truck in pavement.
    I did see several others splashing around in their cars in the salty water.

    The Bonneville salt flats is a cool ass place. If you have the opportunity, going there for speed week is even cooler. Seeing vehicles that go 500 mph is quite the opposite from anything off-road related.

    Made it up above Long Barn on Saturday morning. About 5” of snow everywhere when we arrived. Camped along Trout Creek out past Hull Creek campground.

    It’s great there this time of year or more in fall winter is great. Less people. That’s how I prefer it. Summer time can be a shit show with dumb asses that’s for sure.

    You don’t even need a Subaru, but if you are heavy and on street tires, avoid hooning through tracks that are as deep as your tires. The couple in this Aerostar spent the night here (at a camp site, at least) with the rear end resting on the rear diff.

    I didn’t check the front, but both the rear tires were off the ground. I also didn’t get muddy as I called “not it” first, but that is me balancing with my knee on my tow strap to be sure they didn’t wrap the strap around the brake line.
