I fully believe other than space saving that they are stupid. I also know that for the most part the one into our bathroom will stay open, and the toilet one will be the one that gets most use. We have 4 pocket doors in the house now that were all originally installed with the house in 1967. All work perfectly somehow.

I’d much rather install standard doors, but the wife gets what she wants.

For sure man. Happy wife, happy life.

Pocket doors save space because of bad layout to begin with. I wasn't a fan when I hung my first one in 1992 and I'm still not a fan now. But if it's what you have to work with go for the best hardware you can afford. I'm sure there are other companies similar to Cavity Sliders. I just recommend them because I've installed quite a few with zero issues.

I appreciate the recommendation. I’ll be looking into it more tomorrow.

funny you mention the layout…because from the beginning she wanted them, so I layed the bathroom out knowing that haha.

I started painting in 1978. Have used B&M for a very long time and always have great results. Pay a little more but well worth the money.

Assembled this under TV stand thing. Was using a cheap, ugly wire shelf so this is a pretty big upgrade.

Not really home improvement but to help keep the home looking good. Old rider finally died this past weekend. Hope I get 21 years out of this one like the old one.

Sent my wife a picture of the old rider so she could put it on the town Facebook market place for free. Didn’t think anybody would take it with a seized motor but someone asked if they could come get it now.

Moved into new house down here, since hour one, been chasing electrical gremlins. The architects and GC are close friends of ours but it turns out the electricians they hired did some hack wiring.

Yesterday discovered 23 recepticals with reverse polarity and no ground. Switched the wiring, but need them to pull ground. Isolated one circuit that has 35(!?) Recepticals on a single 20A breaker scattered across three rooms on both sides of the house. It's a hot mess. Blew out my coffee pot during the last storm that rolled through, and if there was EVER a time I needed coffee it's now!

my cousins loves getting old mowers for free. He fixes them up and makes them run again. Switch motors, etc. He had an old Workhorse mower he loves and the brought it back from the dead

I just saw a commercial yesterday for cub cadets electric mowers. Can't say that I'd buy one as I prefer gas powered equipment.

They had an electric rider right next to this one. I didn’t get the name on it. Really not interested in it. Black gray and green colored.

I hear you on the coffee thing
I want coffee the moment my eyes open in the morning
Keep trying to train my wife on time machine turns on (earlier the better)
If the coffee isn't ready first thing
I start finger poking her arm and say
I'm just trying to set the coffee machine but this thing is broken

Needless to say there are mornings she wants to size my neck

Basement toilet had a clogging problem since we had bought our house a year ago. Hand augered it a few months ago and pulled back some tree roots. Finally had someone out today to pull the toilet, snake it and camera the line. Turns out there are no roots in the pipe, they’re under the concrete slab and worked their way up between the pipe and concrete then into the flange right at the finished floor/wax seal and grew a little bush of roots. Drain specialist said it’s only the 3rd or 4th time in 30 years he’s seen something like that, but way better than having roots actually in the pipe. Though he did recommend waterjetting the line and quoted me $700.

And another PSA to replace your washing machine hoses with steel braided ones.
