My neighbor hooked me up with a roll for watching his dog, first time I'd ever had it. I'll watch his dog anytime now...

Too many to list, and I've probably forgotten a bunch.
This guy didn't do so well. Found him near Mina, around 6500 feet. Went on a hike to get to an old mine that had no roads or trails. Crazy stuff.

Found the skull, some of the spine still attached, and all 4 legs. It wasn't that old, and I have no idea if it was poached, died from a fall (we were in some lousy rock in that area), or what.

No clue if it would have been legal to take the skull or not, but we left it there. It was dodgy enough getting down with our packs, and I didn't need the extra weight and bulk screwing me up. That ravine is a total boneyard. A lot of stuff seems to die up there.

And the mountains, they laugh at me.

Sadly the herd is coming from the Bay in droves. I heard Musk gave his employees a move option to come here or TX.

Our house in Damonte just closed escrow today for 758k, it was 525k in 2020. Not ours though...we were renting. It's actually good timing as our daughter is heading to college in the fall in north Phoenix so we're relocating with her in June. It's bittersweet bailing though as I never got to offroad and appreciate what we have here due to my job.

Camped off of bowman lake road last night. West of it there’s a valley that a couple trails go part way down into. Went down there to get out of the wind. Mid day went to emerald pools again today. Was flowing like crazy compared to 3 weeks ago so went a bit extra downstream from the normal cliff jump spot to where water settled a bit.

Second pic is the view from my tent this AM. Buddies slept in the ground tent. I had my truck to myself.

TW wouldn’t let me upload videos so I took two screenshots from the videos on second two

Todays dead day at UNR so now I take finals and head home for a bit to DFW. I’m looking forward to getting back later this summer for sure

Things were definitely different then with the recession and housing bust but as long the local economy supports jobs this is going to be a desirable place to live and people are going to be moving here from all over the country. The growth is nothing new...it's been pretty steady since the 90's with the exception being smaller growth 2007-2011 due to the crappy local economy.

If you want less transplants from the west you probably shouldn't live 15 miles from the western border either ;)

We've been here over 16 years (not including some time in Truckee) and in our place in midtown for 12 years. I think, in terms of where in Reno we live, things have certainly improved in that time and a lot of it is due to out of state buyers coming in and reviving the neighborhood. As for traffic, I work from home and do my best to avoid going north of 80 and I'm rarely on 395 or 80 and I avoid pyramid hwy unless I really need because that road was definitely not designed to handle the level of traffic and whoever allowed for all the growth without infrastructure improvements did us no favors.

That’s awesome you don’t have to say if you don’t want to . I haven’t been out that way in years . But was that pilot peak?

Hell, I'll share. Anyone who wants to get up there is going to have to work for it. I found the skull about here:

    --DM Me--

"Laughing Rock" was a few hundred yards uphill, in the ravine, from there.
