I recently picked a 2015 DCSB base. Long story short my car was totaled in a hit and run. I just paid it off too. I figured now was a good time to finally get a truck. After searching for a while I found the perfect one for me.

I've been poking around the forums and wow there's a ton of info here. I was reading threads on adding fogs. It turns out my truck is prewired for a ton of things. I was happy to find out all the wiring, relay, and fuses are there.

While taking apart my dash to check for switch wiring I found an extra plug. I couldn't figure out what it was for so I figured I'd ask here. Any ideas what this plug is for? I know just because the plug exists it doesn't mean I have that option. I was just curious. TIA.

Wire colors on said connector would help in identifying it.

I thought I took a good pic. See the second one. It looks like it's red, orange, green, blue, and yellow. I'm partially color blind so my colors may be off.

I can kind of see it, I'll look at some wiring diagrams later and see what I can figure out.

This is what I’ve got on mine. Looks like what’s wrapped in blue tape is for the outlet in the bed. Based on your truck missing some switches/features I’m guessing it’s the base model? Correct me if I’m wrong but I think you’re just missing the bed outlet for that connector

I’m dumb… I just read that you have the base model

Thank you! I looked for a few months to find this one. The market is crazy and I had a set budget because I wanted to pay cash. My daughter actually found this and sent it to me!

I think you nailed it. It looks exactly like the same plug.

No worries. It is a base model.

    Agreed
Used market is over the top for cost and our trucks have get resale to start with.

Seeing as it's a base model and you don't have fog lights or the switch for them, I'm going to guess it's for fog lights.

I'm pretty sure the other, non-circled one, is for fogs. I watched a bunch of videos and read posts and the wires match up with what I found.

My brother in law's 01 is worth more now than it was 5 years ago. It's older with more miles but worth more.

If your looking at adding the fog lights I just installed some in my 2013. I just needed lights, relay and switch. All wiring is in place as you are aware. I ended up getting a switch and relay from auto wreckers. Half the price of new.

Here's the crazy part, the relay and fuse is there already along with the wiring. I have the switch on order and I'm picking up OEM fogs locally for free.

Nice! I just got a Black access cab 2015 with the same front bumper haha, lookin good. I think its probably for the inverter in the bed which you probably don't have, which is what Raceface was mentioning. Then the Rear Diff lock, and the far left is the fog light button.

Perfect! Just double check that you have the right relay. It’s in the smaller fuse box closer to the cab. Fog lights will look great on your rig!

Normally, the relay is not installed from the factory. Just the wiring on trucks without fogs.

That's what I figured but I looked and it was all there. No guarantee that it works or that it's the right relay but it's there. I thought it was weird because all the videos I watched had them adding the relay, fuse, and switch. When I double checked it was there minus the switch.
