@Farcedude so if you don't go into a watched thread for a period of time (idk how long that period is) you stop getting notifications even though it is still on your "watch" list. But I'd actually unwatch this one. Suspect I'd meant to do it on another thread. Oh well, I'm back! Yeh not sure why they would even post that. Who let the media guy catch a sniff of the action. Retorque or change the fittings/lines and get it rolling. We're supposed to support stacking in ULA's VIF saturday but I will not be there.

Came down with a non-covid flu/cold/ear&throat thing….

Started the first day of a rare for me 2 week vacation..

No sir I did not. How’d it go?

 

Pretty uneventful. Lots of risk aversion at that place. 3 more flights with just the pylon, then 4 flights with a dummy Talon A, then 3-4 flights dropping a dummy Talon A with not flight controls, THEN they get to the actual launch of a real Talon A.

Part of why I'm taking Saturday off- Boeing is looking for somebody to blame and it ain't gonna be me.

Talking with some senior engineers with Shuttle/Usa experience, they were shocked that Boeing decided to open their system-for whatever reason, the night before fuel ops started allowing a technician to get burnt with hydrazine. Why not wait until Scape starts and your technician is protected by a suit to disconnect a flex hose? Or at bare minimum SAR work,with a mask, supplied air, gloves and an apron.

I was pissed when Boeing told us the technician that got fuel on him freaked out and ran to the bathroom to dilute,the procedure is immediately into a decon shower and strip clothes in the bay. I had just pissed in the bathroom he ran into the night before, no heads up.

 

When it actually flies and they didn’t suspend the launch because Murphy was in attendance. I think we all want it to fly but it’s like watching a football game and your team keeps fumbling away chances and you are powerless to do anything but watch.
