"The PCV catch can kit runs inline between the PCV valve and the intake pipe. When the intake manifold pressure is close to or greater than atmospheric pressure, the PCV "check" valves close and, thus, this hoses experience no flow. Conversely, the PCV hoses will experience "metered" vacuum when the engine is idling, steady state cruising, and decelerating. This would normally draw unwanted crankcase vapor, unspent fuel, and oil sludge into the intake manifold immediately after a high load run.
The PCV catch can promotes clean filtered air back into the intake manifold."

"The CCV catch can mounts to threaded bosses in the engine bay on the inner fender with the provided supplementary bracket. To retain factory functionality, the CCV catch can runs inline between the crankcase vent (CCV) port and the intake pipe. At low loads, it experiences atmospheric pressure. However, when the engine is at high load (WOT), the line will experience high flow from the crankcase into the intake system. This would normally lead to oil and sludge accumulation in the air filter intake pipe. The CCV catch can captures this and promotes clean filtered air back into the intake.
The CCV catch can kit does NOT address blow-by from the PCV side of the crankcase."

Been interesting reading everyone’s experience with catch cans and how full they get. I installed one as a bandaid for when off-roading but after 10k miles on the first change I had maybe a teaspoon of oil…

Thanks for the information and link.

My MAIN question remains: For the 3.5L how much gunk have people actually caught on the CCV side?

I definitely get more than that with JLT. Every 5K or so, maybe near 2-3 oz or so.

Considering that Radium is the first company to make a CCV side system it is very new. Have you asked Radium?

I don't think there has been a CCV option until now. I wouldn't image it would be a ton, or even more than the PCV side, based off of what Radium is stating on their website. It looks like on the CCV side, it is most likely to accumulate liquid/oil under WOT. I am also curious under normal, daily driving circumstances how effective the CCV catch can would be.

I will be updating when I get my Radium "too expensive non-Areoquip hose'd dual can system" installed, for sure!

I remember talking to you about that situation a little bit ago. Did J&L ever get back to you about it?

S&B Bought out JLT performance intake and the people that invented the JLT catch can systems are now J&L OSC

I did not contact them . Just sold it as the ticking sound is really annoying me. Still looking for a can that doesn’t amplify the engine noise (ticking).
Thanks for the link. Looks like j&L can and JLT are similar

So in 2k miles and Moab off-roading my catch can collected about 10ml of oil. Which seems about normal for me but still a small amount compared to what I am hearing.

Thanks. The radium set up looks very promising. Looks legit. I don’t mind the price as long as it doesn’t amplify the ticking sound . Pls keep us posted.

Oh man - those look CLEAN! I have the J&L single and like how it mounts to that unused bolt hole on the driver's side of the block near the firewall. My only gripe with this dual can setup is where it mounts as I am looking to put my electrical accessories there (relays, accessory fuse block, etc.). Pics have it driver's side near the firewall where I have plans, although it looks like you can mount the brackets anywhere. Since I have a sport I'd probably put them up on the passenger side firewall above the ABS valving.

I am sure you could mount them anywhere. Also you could really use any catch can(s) you wanted as well.
