Entry level bikes do turn into a rabbit hole when upgrading.

yea when i did the upgrade program, i sent the the serial of the fork i had and they told me what forks would be compatible. its a little tricky finding a 1 1/8 straight steer fork. there was a fox 32 on pinkbike for awhile for 500ish. i couldnt justify it so i went with the suntour fork. its much better even though i havent tuned it yet

I also vote forks over truck. 19k on the truck so nothing wrong with it's suspension and that is essentially a cosmetic upgrade.

Plus you can buy a nice Fox fork AND rear shock for the cost of Kings in just the front of your truck.

What loose fitting long sleeve jerseys are folks wearing? I used to have a Bontrager I got in sale and was great for cooler rides but has grown legs over the winter.

my helfare long sleeve is pretty comfortable. ive done 12+ hour days in it

pretty sure RAD (Ride All Day) uses the same jersey just a different color/layout pattern.

    I disagree...

My advice to someone getting into this mess is to get a $500-1000 used hardtail. ( that might be pandemic pricing)

Make sure you actually enjoy the suffer that is mt biking, before spending thousands of dollars on a bike to sit in the garage untouch. How many of us have buddies with $3500+ bikes that are collecting dust that they never ride?

Of course, once you get into it you end up upgrading parts and eventually the whole bike. Also, feel like starting out with less bike makes you a better rider in the long run.

Patagonia Daily Cool or Columbia Terminal Tackle.

I also love the Peal Izumi Launch (?) 3/4sleeves

    And whatever brand GMBN uses

I think I've mentioned this on here before

    Hookit.com

Is a good way to get deals from Oneal( also Ogio, Azonic) Gopro, skullcandy, Spy, Leatt and a few others

Basically, its hooked up with your strava, facebook, IG.. you can get "sponsorship" or Ambassador deals.

I am a hack with a pretty minimal following and I just did my first MTB race last weekend. Still getting some nice discounts from above listed companies.

Takes a few moments to get an account set up.

    Check it out...

Interesting. Not on Strava, rarely post/on IG and generally try to limit as much as I'm being sold (to the extent that is actually possible).

    *Update to this situation*

Shop confirmed that 3 spokes will require replacement. All else looked good. Seller agreed to cover 100% of the repair costs and has already refunded that value.

Glad to see there are still a few folks out there that can own up to a mistake and do the right thing.
