22 SR VIN not decoding - remote Tailgate lock PN

I took delivery of a 22 SR Access Cab on March 20 that was built in February. My VIN number still will not decode at the Toyota dealer so that I can order parts.

questions:

-How long has it taken for people to see their VIN number decode?

-Someone know which of the PN's for the Remote Tailgate lock harness available will fit the Access Cab models?

What do you mean by your VIN won't "decode"? The VIN should register in the Toyota system within a day of the vehicle being built. And, are they requiring a VIN to order parts?

 

Literally that when I put the VIN number in on the Dealer website, or call have them input it, it comes back as "VIN not found". I've checked the number in multiple places on the truck so I know it is right number.

Then the issue is with Toyota. There is no reason for it to register as not found unless there is a problem with their system, they are inputting the wrong number...or it is a fake VIN. You need to press the selling dealership to fix this or you will have issues getting your vehicle serviced, recall campaigns done, etc.

 

You used to be able to look up any vin without an account here but go here, create an account using your VIN and see what it says - Vin Lookup

 

FWIW the DCSB and the ACLB are the same length, so you really dont need to be worried about most length required stuff like this until you get into DCLB territory.

Same thing with most sliders/runners, tend to use the same for both the AC & the DCSB

 

I do have a Toyota account and the VIN number shows up there with a breakdown even, but still try to go order parts and VIN not found.
