Not to call you guys out, but I'm planning on taking a 3-week camping/off-roading trip out west (Wyoming, Utah, Colorado, and maybe Nevada) at the end of July/start of August. The only two places I've for sure planned on visiting are Grand Teton and Canyonlands. If you or anyone else has some suggestions of what other national parks or forests I should try to visit along the way, please feel free to let me know.

I mean if you're going to be in NoVa I can hand it off to you, but I dont want anyone to make a special trip. Staunton is only a couple hours away from me so it's very doable.

I'm loving it, it flexes like a champ and really smooths out the ride. Looking forward to hitting FPK again.

    Badlands?

I skipped Mt Rushmore, heard it was underwhelming. Dont plan on going if I make it west again soon. I might be doing a cross country to CA in 2023, but not sure yet. Also not sure if it will be on 2 wheels or 4

That's a horrible idea. What time?
If you have the time, and can stomach the traffic, Yellowstone is one of the favorites we have visited so far. And you're right there. But the traffic around attractions and animal sightings will resemble the beltway rush hour traffic with an accident.

Grand Tetons, Moose Wilson Road and the visitor center (something Roosevelt) was worth the stop with some hiking available as well.

Utah. If you can get in, do all of the parks, Bryce, Zion, Arches. That was our first trip west.

Mt. Rushmore was cool at sunset. Veterans from the audience lower and fold the flag. All were called down to stage. Badlands was not planned but made a nice drive through on the way to Yellowstone. Devils Tower was fun (because of the movie) and has a nice hike around it. Climbers can be seen. And a bunch of Prarie dogs.

On the Utah trip, we went south to the 4 Corners and Mesa Verde.

North option from where you will be is Glacier. Days drive from Yellowstone. It's on our list, we just didn't have time when were there.

You might have to explain Devil's Tower and movie reference.

Seriously, loved the snorkeling, food, and people, but the environment will melt you! It was 100 degrees and 99% humidity everyday (Somalia, Palm Springs, etc.. can be 115, but dry and that was still better). Mold growing everywhere and algae growing from the roads (the only material they could use for concrete was of course from the shoreline). Like I said, it was normal to go into a meeting and everyone be drenched like we all just sat in a storm. But, it's worth the trip to see family....nothing is more important and rewarding than that.

Guess I could've done the same thing. You do remind me that I haven't seen that movie in forever. I should purchase it.

    Got married in October.

Was going to Jamaica for honeymoon, but decided against it for covid reasons and restrictions. Tried to go to Maine, but got into car accident in MA. Totaled her Rav4, but got another one. Her new one gets 560 miles to a tank. Puts the truck to shame
