    Multiple spots rusted through.

Hope to show the bumper and tailgate replacements eventually. But for now here’s this:

I think the moral to the story is check your engine guard/shield yearly, or at least at every oil change and address rust spots accordingly. I replaced mine with the TRD alum guard but it still uses steel bolts and steel hold-down brackets. How much was the replacement?

Bought it in case 2020 when living in Ny. Now back to the best coast.

The shield was a bargain from a 3rd Gen guy upgrading to the TRD one.

What cost are you if you “don’t look”?

    I figure if I don’t look, I don’t know.
And therefore, it can be what ever I want it to be.

They salt in other places, too. Sometimes not even intentionally.

East Coast. You can tell someone to fuck off and they don't cry about it. Punches may be thrown.

West Coast. Tell someone to fuck off and they look at you like you just killed their kitten. Then they cry about it to everyone you know.

Lived in both and it took me a long time to tame down my East Coast attitude to keep the Westies happy. It's a small price to pay for never having to deal with rust again. lol

Depends on where on the West Coast. Where I'm at, you might just eat a bullet for looking at someone wrong.

That is anywhere. East Coast, West Coast, in the Middle. Anywhere.

    Anywhere you find people.

While I agree with you, the dynamic is... Different.

Midwest, you'll at least get some warning or pushback before you eat lead.

East Coast, sure, I can see it.

West Coast, it just comes out of the blue.
