Apparently we cant because of Mormons and multiple wives.. I dont know. Seems like theres a reason for every place I suggest. Maybe she wants to be close to family (shes big into her family stuff, and Im ok for a couple hours, but I like to be by myself or not social all the time during holidays etc..)


My friend with the Tiger 800 listed his house last weekend for "fun" way over market price, just to see if he could take advantage of the market. He texted me this morning saying it was under contract, and he's going to move in with his GF.

Yeah, I bought in June 2019 which appears to have been exactly perfect timing, and mine has gone up over 50% and I know it'd go to a bidding war if I listed it, but then I'd be priced out of moving up.

I got motorcycles and stuff to pay for, not even more ridiculous mortgages!

I'm telling y'all, eastern washington is where it's at. Or northern idaho if you can't stand WA politics haha hot summers, cold winters, tons of space, relatively cheap land. it's great out here.

I was telling my wife that I really liked where you live. I have an old friend who lives in downtown Winchester, but his apartment was built in the 1900s haha. It just really turned me off that he can hear when the fire trucks go out. I know I definitely dont want to live in a city. Need some space between houses.

 

He does have an awesome shop. 25 ft door, and 3,000 sq ft and he only pays $1k/month. He had a garage kept sailboat on a trailer for a while, not sure about now..

And, I grew up just outside of Strasburg, so know that area really well!

The older I get, the less I like the gen-pop and I was pretty cranky even in my youth. So many oblivious (insert hilarious insult of your choice here!) everywhere you turn. I understand some folks truly enjoy being around people all the time but that is not me. I can mix and mingle and can enjoy it but, when I'm done? I'm done!

So you're in the area of Berkley Springs or close? Nice area. Ridden down there a few times.

 

Everyone from Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Cali, etc has been moving here in droves. House/shop/land I was looking at for 350 the guy was asking 775k for and got way over asking price. Property taxes are up, crime is waayyy up, traffic is up ha. It’s still amazing here. Compared to anywhere else it’s still better. But it’s all relative. Compared to SD several years ago the State is neatly ruined for us natives who call it home. Hope you can find some land! It’ll at least be cheaper than wherever else ha. If you need any pointers on what is here and whatnot let me know.

 

ID was our second choice. We had a trip planned to Lewiston/Moscow area, loosely speaking, to do some recon. Just got too busy and liked the laws here more and more.

 

That's the area I'm in, but on the WA side, Pullman is about 8 miles west of Moscow, 20 miles N of Lewiston.
