Its already confirmed that the next gen Tacoma and 4R are using the same platform as the new Tundra.

What I remember reading was that all three will share the same hilux platform. Not that they will move up to the tundra platform. Sounded to me like the tundra was moving down, the tacoma moving up and the 4runner being status quo as it is a hilux already. But I didn't think it was fully confirmed? And what if the new hilux platform is unibody construction:D

Yep. I don’t understand the “rear drums suck” complaint. Long lasting and they work great on a Tacoma. Get a better parking brake system too.

Meh, I know that's a popular mindset but I don't think it's particularly true these days. I've purchased 3 different cars during their very first model year and never had an issue with any of them. I have seen some cars decline in quality after the first couple years as well due to cost cutting. I recall test driving a 2019 mustang gt premium to compare to my 2015 gt premium and being shocked at how the interior looked the same at a glance but once you started touching things, most everything was thinner and creakier and made out of cheaper materials (not that the 2015 didn't have its fair share of cheap plastic or anything but it was an obvious decline). I pulled off a trim panel under the front left drivers side that was made out of actual aluminum with felt behind it on my 2015 and on the new one it was just thin textured throwaway plastic (kind of like the Tacoma interior :p).

If you're holding off then I can see not wanting the first wave of deliveries, but after a few months you'll know if there are any issues and if you don't then its still going to be there for the next year. It's not like new vehicles from the big name manufacturers actually use all new parts anyway, it's all just stuff from other cars put into a different shape most of the time and the software that drives it all can get updated if something isn't working right.

They do and its a POG. They had a recall on MT Jeeps, clutch plates were literally exploding last year. Jeep's answer was to electronically limit torque. They can't even build basic Manual right. I won't touch jeep with 10 feet pole.

I think its a great looking idea, but I try to avoid first gen new things as much as much as possible, at least until they get the kinks worked out. That being said, I'd welcome a turbo 4cyl. Could probably get better gas mileage and make it easier to tune.

TNGA-F for all the Toyota/Lexus body on frame trucks and SUVs in this next generation, starting with the recently launched new Tundra.

The 4Runner's continued success seems to have nixed any previous internal discussions about taking the 4Runner down the Pathfinder route. It will stay truck-based.

Odds of Option 1 are low, IMO. I think Option 2 will be offered with/without hybridization. Hybridized Tacoma will achieved ~30 MPG combined.

It better get better gas mileage and a pretty big jump as well, that's the whole reasoning for smaller displacement and forced induction engines.

Tacoma sales are down for a 2nd month straight, and Toyota has seen a decline in sales globally for the past 2 years. Toyota needs to get the redesigned Tacoma right, and find away to build them.

I don't think that's just a toyota thing. I believe that's across the board for all manufacturers because of supply issues.

Yes all manufactures are having supply issues. Ram is offering 0% APR on 2500s, I see more new Tundras everyday, Mavericks, and new fullsize Broncos are everywhere. I see more new Tahoes, than any other GM vehicles on the road. There are new vehicles being built and making to Consumers. Why are those vehicles being built, and others are not?

I would say US built vehicles are fairing better, but the Ram 2500, is built in Mexico just like the Tacoma. The Ram probably isn't selling as fast as the Tacoma, but what is going on?

Domestic companies seem to be getting more product out the door. Even NA built vehicles seem easier to obtain than vehicles imported from overseas.

IMO a turbo 4 will fix the terrible low end torque.
I also think the Nissan frontier has a better frame, better ride, and better tech. When manuals were offered the clutch is 100x better. Smooth, light, and excellent catch point down low. None of this accumulator BS

I didn’t buy one because they stopped offering manuals. So, the next best thing is a Tacoma with a tune.

Current gen Tacoma has been out for 6 years going on 7 and in it's final stretch before next year as all new for 2024, besides Ram, the Bronco's have had pent up demand / orders finally being filled and all new same with Mavericks, Tundras (which are up in sales) and new Tahoes, all new designs with pent up demand prior allocations / orders. Can only sell so many basically unchanged Tacomas to so many consumers. I dont think Toyota is the least bit worried and playing their cards right by allocating more chips / components to what they know will sell such as the all new Tundra, same with GM and Ford, they aren't dumb just allocating resources to the most in demand models which are all what you listed there.
