I am new to all this. So what does it mean to be on the spec sheet. Apparently from what I have been told is that it's already built and stuck at port on inspection hold. ETA was 3/28 now they say 6/10. Insanity!!

Did they tell you what number you were?
My salesman told me I'm on #55 on the waitlist.
I'm in no rush, but can't wait till I get a call/email with some update.

Hi all, first time poster purchasing his first new vehicle. Toyota-wise I've been driving an SR 4x4 and a Sport at work but hopefully I'll have one to call my own sooner rather than later. Ordered 1/23 and got the temp VIN 4/28.

Nice. Congrats and good luck on a quick shipping and delivery process.

I'm waiting on the same trim, color and transmission truck. I was lucky to find one with the least number of options possible (LED lights and all weather mats). $37.9k out the door. The older I get, the more I prefer simplicity over features.

@Rod03 can you see if you can see where my truck is. Dealer said it was slated for truck transport but had no idea where it was or when it would be delivered. He di agree with me though that I should have had this truck in my possession over a month ago. I think he is as frustrated as I am.

if you are that far down the list for what you want check with more dealers. You will never get a truck at that rate unless its a super high volume dealer. The dealer I ended up getting an allocation with doesn't get that many Tacomas in an entire year.

I'm a week 19 build (next week+), but I do have a set of 17x8.5 zero offset FSW 2021 4Runner TRD PRO satin black rims showing up tomorrow for my Taco. So I got that going for me. :D

Any updates from them? I think I am in the same window as you know; my salesman at Windward said mine was now on a list to be built this month and delivered in June.

Haha, nice. Similar situation, my SCS Gen5's have been sitting in my garage waiting since the end of January. New suspension should finally be here soon too. I should probably use all this time waiting for the new truck to also clean up the armor I took of my 2017. Good times...

Just picked up my Blue Crush Metalic yesterday, 4 months after making a deposit. Not my original color choice but I like it. C5uqwN_A6c2_bfs7qEQ6je2hvvmX9eyYkqIvjwnw_74f1c5cf47cee0cb528aabfa9a7043884a3c6b3e.jpg

Not really sure what to make of all of this, but I'm really excited to have purchased my first truck. Feels so weird adjusting to the new controls, but I know I'll get used to it. From start to finish, the wait as between 5 1/2 to 6 weeks, but I got the exact truck I wanted with very few compromises.

    • March 15 - First contact with Longo Toyota
    • March 26 - Made a deposit
    • April 6 - Allocation from January selected for me
    • April 20 - Build date (Vspec dark, no updates)
    • April 29 - Temp VIN stopped working
    • May 3 - Vehicle arrives at the dealership
    • May 4 - Purchase
I worked with the good folks at Longo Toyota and I had a pleasant experience. Worked a great deal on my trade, got the Graduate discount incentive, and wasn't pressured into unwanted add-ons. My sales rep, folks in the parts department, and finance team were fantastic. No drama--no BS.

The only gripes are (1) the $729 document fee and (2) dumb items in the build, like door edge guards and black out emblems. However, in light of the current situation I've really got nothing to complain about.

Tomorrow: installing an OEM roof rack, D-rings, TRD grill, and cars seats for my kids. Just waiting on a Miller cat shield. Thanks for reading!

Congratulations. Car seats are no fun in these trucks. Fortunately My oldest is 15 and my youngest is 8. Sill in a booster seat. Thankfully Booster seats works well.
