Toyota sent this vid to me of the fellas in Texas calibrating the wheel for my spare tire. Toyota quality sure slipped in recent years!

I prefer the light oak and subtle peat flavor of the 2017 vintage myself. Has a good mouth feel. Not too sweet, just dry enough.

Read some article somewhere's along the way that discounted the tale that Toyota Tacoma reliability had gone down in recent years.

The writer attributed other MFG's had improved their product to better compete with the Tacoma.
And at the end of the day that's a good thing - keeps everyone on their toes.

Probably not too many of you young whipper-snappers on this site who can recall the absolute horror's of a 1970's anything...
Think Chrysler K-Cars .. the Ford Pinto's... the Chevy Vega ... the Gremlin ... (perfect name for it) etc.
You'd be lucky to get 50,000 miles out of one and could expect major repairs at any time.

K-Cars were definitely a horror show, but they were 1980's.

Once the K-Cars had fuel injection (1985 ish) that cured the drivability issues.
Two words that should never be in the same sentence: computer & carburetor.

My Uncle had a K-Car Wagon right around then, his Wife at the time plowed into the back of someone and totaled it. Thankfully she was uninjured and put that car out of its misery.

They were a great little wagon - no blind spots, headroom to wear a hat and of course the wagon versatility. Early models were available with 4 and 5 speed manuals too even with the bench seat. Check out the cool shifter.

When doing research on 3rd gens it was clear to stay away from anything older than 2019.... lots of problems early on.

Consumer reports should stick with reviewing toasters, those tofu eating dweebs know nothing about trucks or cars.

And yet in some ways it's like we're reliving the 70's with high inflation, high interest rates, high gas prices, cars made with underpowered fuel efficient engines...Now whatever happened to the gold standard? Oh, never mind.
