2022 Tacoma Discussion (Canadian edition)

My pro was held for almost 6 weeks 25 mins from my house suspected to be waiting for
the installation of heated seats I was told. Eventually I did come..

 

I picked up my truck mid March and my dealer finally called me in today to have my badges replaced with blacked out ones free of charge. The hood scoop decal is another story however, as my sales manager can’t even find a factory decal to order so I’ll still have to eventually get that added in the hopefully not too distant future..

 

Finally came into the dealer yesterday, going to pick up Friday. No decal as I expected lol

 

Quick question for you... I have a White '22 Pro on order as well. Do your truck come with the black door badges or did the dealer replace them already for you?

Disappointed to see the topo graphic on the hood isn't coming stock. Lame move from Toyota...

 

They did not come from the factory, I got them for $130 as a dealer accessory

 

I would take pink badges if it came with the truck at this point. Jealous of all the Pro deliveries lately.

 

The dealership is adding the black door badging free of charge for me. However no mention of hood graphic or black inlay lettering on tailgate. Up until a couple weeks ago the Toyota.ca website even had stated that the hood decal was included but has since been removed.

 

I don’t even care if it’s free or not. I just wanna find somewhere where I can actually order it

i hear yeah. I’ve put in a complaint with Toyota.ca about these issues. I at least want a explanation of why these options are missing.

Regarding the topographic hood decal I have done a little phoning around with my VIN number and from what I have been told by Toyota USA is that the decal is something that is put on the truck when it lands at the port. Doesn't have anything to do with the dealership. The guy I spoke with suggested calling a California or Florida based Toyota dealership (which I did do as well) and they said that yes - it is a 'port addition' when the truck lands. There is no part # for the decal yet - but there will be apparently... I agree its pretty weak to advertise a truck with a certain way and then deliver it another. Regardless of how minute of a detail a hood decal may be is beside the point... Put it on there! Will keep searching for it in a couple weeks time and see if a part # materializes. Until then - if anyone else hears anything please let me know.

This is the Toyota site in the legal section. I'm sure they can use this to get out of things like missing stickers.

 

Got me a new 2022 TE today,while I wait on the Pro I ordered.

 

Love the bronze wheels and accents on the trail edition.

 

Yesterday I passed a car carrier on the highway. It had 2 TEs in Lunar Rock and all emblems were blacked out.

 

What tonneau cover is that?

 

Anyone know when order books close for 2022/open for 2023? Put a deposit down and told my dealer that I didn't want the truck until September and he said it might come as a 2023.
