Thanks Jason. I'm picking up the Fox 2.5 PES 0-3" lift. I'm planning to compress the springs to adjust the collars.

Definitely the best way but they should be adjustable installed also. But once they corrode a bit it becomes pretty tough.

Shouldn't be an issue with these aluminum body Performance Elite Series shocks ;)

Anyone know of shock boots that fit these 2.5 DSC PES rear shocks? I assume the outer diameter is the same as factory race series but maybe these are larger?

I couldn’t get daystar shock boots that measure about 2.25” around the shock bodies so much the the point I gave up. I’d like one with a diameter of 2.5” so that I don’t have to fight them on too much

    TIA

The ones on their website are 15” which these shocks only have 9.65” of travel. I was hoping to find one about 11” so far the closest I found is 12.5”

These will work. They can be trimmed if you want them to be shorter. We actually recommend keeping the bottoms of these open, to not allow dirt and debri to get stuck in there

I was also looking at these. The sales rep said they were 12” which I would plan on increasing draining regardless the option I go with and still may cut the bottom off if I don’t like the fit
    https://www.thurenfabrication.com/products/thuren-shock-boot-pair?variant=39606607380660

I feel like if there’s the bottom that holds it will stay covered as it compresses then expands and I can create draining on the backside right above that sealed point but maybe having it more open is better. Probably will evaluate more when I have them and see how they interact

@AccuTune Offroad can I buy the new style of resi mount that comes with the Performance Elite series shocks and use it with the Factory race series shocks. I really like the new style of mounting better (vertical vice horizontal) . Is the hose length the same? Just turn the fittings?

Yes, but those brackets are something we would need to order. You would also need to adjust reservoir to fit in that orientation.

Installed my FOX PES 2.5 front and rear yesterday. I compressed the coils just fine at home with the SPC kit and adjusted the collar by hand.
I'm protecting all of the installed parts, so not the most glorious picture with the Fox decals. Thank you @AccuTune Offroad for all of your help!

Hello all, been about 6 months since I have had the Tacoma so why not go all out with a new suspension? My big concern though is I really don't want to add lift, and I do like a little rake. I have a Leer 100xr topper which pulled the rear end down, but went to Deaver to re-work the pack and add about an inch back to the rear. I know I am splitting hairs here (and I should..the truck is still brand new), but I think it would be perfect with about .5 inch more in the front.

I am not upgrading for the look, I do want the benefits, but I don't want to go through the trouble and expense to find the front sitting 1-1.5" + where it is now.

Reading through the threads I am seeing the Fox 2.5 R/R with the Eibach 13" 600lb spring as the smallest/shortest spring. Will this give me more height than I am looking for? Do they make perhaps a 12.5" spring?

    Thank you in advance!

How much preload did you end up with? I just got mine from @AccuTune Offroad , and was curious. Mahalo

I was in your same boat. Called up accutune and they set me up with the
FOX-880-02-418 extended travel setup, I let them know I wasn’t looking for any lift up front but that I was rocking sliders and heavy steel skid. My front end was sagging .5” on stock suspension and the coilovers they sent out got me back to stock front end height. Definitely do-able to get the performance without the lift. And well worth every penny in my opinion. I ended up adjusting the coilovers to get a little lift after a couple of months anyways.

That’s good to hear, thank you! AccuTune did say it was possible but I thought I would check and see if someone here had a similar experience. Did you change UCA? I don’t mind doing so but I would like to understand why it’s needed if not lifting more than 1”. Does it provide more droop when unloaded?

If you were really only after .5-1" lift, you could get away with the 0-2" front coilovers and not run an aftermarket UCA. If you get the 0-3" coilovers, the longer droop travel will be the issue.

Thanks! What is the P/N for the 0-2" front coilovers? I only see 0-3" listed here:

    https://accutuneoffroad.com/product/05-tacoma-mid-travel-suspension-kit-custom/

Also do you go more specific than the Adventure/Dual Sport/Trail Tunes? I will be running 90% on the street and really do enjoy the Cadillac type ride of the soft TRDOR/Billy setup. But the 10% off road will be run moderately. Will also be in some remote places with some 30 mile start to finish moderate trails that will work the suspension a bit. I have a little weight-Leer shell, Steel sliders, and aluminum skids.

I did change out the UCAs, it has to be done to clear the extended travel coilovers.

Hey Hawaii cement taco, after adjusting the preload, I ended up with 21-1/4" of Shock Length, both sides. That's the short answer, haha. I basically took out almost 100% of the preload on the Passenger side.
I couldn't adjust the collar on the Passenger side any more without the collar unscrewing at the top to achieve the 21".

When I did my first install of the coilovers, drove it around to settle it, then measured, I had almost 22" of shock length! Way too much. I mean, it was fun seeing the truck lifted that high, but I needed to drop it. So I compressed the preload collar, and unscrewed it just shy of an inch.

I contacted AccuTune about this and they mentioned that because the PES comes with 14" coils, it leaves less room for preload adjustment. I would need to swap to 13" coils to really dial it in to 21" Shock Length max.

I'm coming from 885 OME coils, so I can't really say for certain how much lift I have now from stock. My guess is a solid 3" though. Hope that helps.
