Man i hate hearing anecdotes like this. Maybe I don't belong in CA, because I can definitely relate to it, but me and everyone I know are the type of people who will at least smile and nod back, if not strike up a conversation depending on the situation.

Some people just suck, regardless of state.

Oh for sure! Some of the most amazing people I’ve ever met were in Cali, and some are still there, although many have moved here. Good people all over. But city folk will never understand how unlivable the city is for those who grew up in open spaces. I’ve lived all over the world and cities are the only places I was excited to leave asap. Just a different planet altogether from living and riding in small towns/country.

I can ride the back highways 5 minutes from our current temporary apartment for hours and maybe see a car or two. Just relax and space out after a long days work. And no traffic ever on the way to anything. It’s great :)

Had that when we lived outside of Houston. Plenty of bare roads. Now I gotta ride for a bit to get outta the traffic. I was just telling my wife yesterday it’s annoying how people get all in a hurry in traffic and just weaving in and out to gain an extra 5 ft of travel. :annoyed:

Haha while I haven't had quite the same luxury, I can somewhat relate. Like I mentioned in a previous post, where I used to live was very spaced out with plenty of open roads. A quick 5 minute ride would take me to some nice, open, winding highways with very little traffic.

Now that I've moved, it takes me 5 minutes just to get to the freeways, then another 20-30 just to get the very beginning of any of those nice highways. IDK what I'd do if lane splitting wasn't a thing, and cops weren't so lax with bikers. you basically have to be doing burnouts or wheelies to get stopped.

Damn! Forum really could use a dislike button as clicking "like" just feels wrong. Glad you're still around to tell the tale and hoping for a speedy recovery for you. Should you be in need of a cheese steak say the word and I think a few of us could arrange a TW/MC thread delivery to your residence! I'm certainly willing to ride to Philly and even buy your lunch.

Haha. Some people are like that. I’m the guy that says hello to everyone and introduce myself to my neighbors when I move. I make it a point to play nice especially because I make a lot of noise with my hobbies. Grinding metal and motorcycles are usually annoying but I keep respectable hours an always offer my help those around me if they need anything. I’m also the guy that sweeps the street in front of my house when the leaves pile up so I’m kind of a weirdo.

I think the term "decent human being" is what you were looking for.

I try to do that as well. Takes no more time out of my day and makes getting along with the neighbors much easier. I'm pretty blessed in that several of my neighbors ride or are gear heads in some form.

Heard a nasty rumor today that they're stopping Navi production (or running out of the knock down kits, maybe?) in June for the year and coming out with new colors for 2023 and restarting production later in the year for those. Saw it two places that both referenced Honda documents, but none have posted said document.

@FreshOldTaco - Glad you are able to look forward to getting back out there. When I had my most recent mishap, it was all on me and I went through a long internal debate about whether I needed to move to a much more "sedate" type ride or possibly just stop altogether. I hope that healing (emotional, as well as physical) comes quickly for you!

Man, I appreciate it but with the wife's car likely having a blown head gasket, the bike situation is on hold.

I did find out (not sure if I posted it here) that the reg/rec needs to be upgraded with wires needing soldering and the reg/rec possibly being relocated if it won't fit in the stock location. Getting a little nauseous just thinking about that and really wish I had some experience with electrical...
