    @Shellshock

Can you buy beer and hard liquor at a gas station or grocery store in Iowa; The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board has an iron grip on alcohol sales here. Beer is sold at privately owned beer distributors, and for the longest time you could only buy it by the case; Luckily, enough people complained, so the law was changed like five or six years ago. Now, you can buy it by the 12-pack, the 6-pack, or even the bottle!

Grocery stores found a way around the alcohol laws in Pennsylvania by establishing restaurants within the store that have special liquor licenses or something. Unfortunately, thanks to lobbying from the beer store owners among other things, all sorts of stupid rules were put in place that make it incredibly obnoxious to buy large quantities of beer at the typical store-within-a-store supermarket beer store. For starters, you can't buy more than two six packs or the equivalent in one transaction, and you have to bring the beer out to your vehicle then come back in and buy more. All of the supermarket beer gardens I've been to encourage you to stash the beer in a shopping cart just outside the door so you don't have to go all the way out to your car and then come all the way back.

This is where another obnoxious policy comes in. Even if you are clearly over the age of 21 and have shown your ID, you have to show it again with every single transaction. At a beer distributor, the employees have a lot of discretion; If you are a regular who the staff recognizes and/or are clearly over 21, then you can buy as much beer as you want without showing ID.

Grocery stores can also sell wine in limited qualities, but you aren't allowed to buy any alcohol at the regular checkouts; The LCB continues to maintain an iron grip on hard liquor like vodka and whiskey.

I'm guessing that in Iowa you can go to Walmart, fill up an entire shopping cart with beer, wine, and hard liquor, and pay for it all in the same transaction while the clerk checks ID at his or her own discretion.

Exactly this. 6AM to 2AM 7 days a week. Due to Covid, they changed a bunch of laws. Now restaurants can sell to-go alcohol as long as it is "sealed". A local mexican place sells 20oz Margaritas in the drive through with a plastic heat sealed flap on the cup. I'm sure no one pokes a straw in that lid for the drive home.

At the height of COVID, there was a stupid law in Pennsylvania enacted that you couldn't buy any alcohol at a bar unless you bought food too...

Missouri is like the garden of Eden.... You can buy beer at children's soccer games. Drive through alcoholic snow cones are a thing too. Only limiting factor is your credit card max.

That's one option yes. There's a ton of different things that are made at Trops and other places

I believe I've only been through St. Louis once in my life; My dad was in the Navy for 25 years and we moved from Pennsylvania back to California in the summer of 1996. We drove right through St. Louis and we were going to stop at the arch, but it was obscenely hot and this insane thunderstorm came through. At the age of 7, my first and so far only in-person view of the St. Louis Arch was from the air-conditioned comfort of my dad's 1996 Nissan Pathfinder; Despite what I've heard about goings-on in St. Louis over the last decade or so, I would still like to visit someday!

MY GOD! If one lives in Dubuque, they could be in Illinois or Wisconsin in a matter of minutes! However, moving to that general area after Toyota put a new frame under my truck seem like it might be playing with fire, that is if I want my truck to be around long enough to qualify for antique tags...

He was going to buy a new 1996 T4R, but no dealer within 50 miles of us would go below sticker; I happened to notice the then-all-new Pathfinder in a print ad on the back of a magazine and pointed it out to my dad. My dad test drove a Pathfinder, liked it, and ended up buying one. My dad brought me along the first time he test drove one and the salesman let me ride shotgun!

The Pathfinder my dad bought ended up being our family vehicle until 2000, when it was replaced with a 2000 GMC Safari conversion van. We kept the Pathfinder until September 2009, when my dad traded it for the Tacoma that he gave me and I am still driving, and to date holds the record for the longest time my parents have ever kept a vehicle. The aforementioned GMC van turned out to be basketcase and was traded for a new Honda Odyssey in 2004. The Odyssey was sold almost a decade ago and the Pathfinder will be surpassed by my Tacoma next year for longest time owning a single vehicle.

Once the warranty on my new frame is up this November, I think I'll do the fluid film regardless of whether I stay in PA or move somewhere else, even it's a place where it doesn't snow!

I'll do that when it warms up a bit more; Where can I buy fluid film and how much do you think I'll need for a regular cab?

Home Depot for the spray cans. 4 cans will do a basic job (leaf springs included). But 6 - 8 won't hurt.....

You can even park the cans in front of the space heater for a little bit to warm them up before you start using them for best application.

    OR

You could do with the influencers do and buy it in a gallon jug and get a spray gun and deal with all that mess.
