    Build date was 3/29.
*Dealer called today...It's HERE. I pick it up tomorrow. I'm trading in a 2016 RAV4, got a decent price for it. I'm financing what the trade in didn't cover with my own bank, and the dealer was pressuring me to finance it in house. The reason I did so was because my bank has always taken excellent care of me over the years, and if there are any problems, I can sit down face to face with a real person that knows me, instead of trying to fix any issues with a voice on the phone 1500 miles away that couldn't give a shit. The salesman and sales manager were not happy.:D

*To those of you still tracking your truck, mine didn't change over to a "G" until this morning when it got here. The stuff on the app suddenly started working too. Worst part of this was arguing with the sales people. I hate car shopping. I've had colonoscopies that were more fun. Feel like I have one more gauntlet to run tomorrow when I go pick it up...wondering what they'll try and pull when I get there.

I’m hoping that’s somewhat the case for me too. I haven’t had a mileage or TPMS update since before the truck went on a train. It was supposed to get to the Logistics Park 2 days ago (assuming IL with final destination being Cincinnati). Still sitting on “F” with no app notifications of doors unlocking, more mileage, change in tire pressure, etc after traveling 2000+ miles via rail from Mexico over lots of elevation and temperature change. Fingers crossed it magically shows up at the dealer this weekend.

Yeah, I didn't get mileage or tire pressure in the app until my vehicle was at the end of its train trip. All that said, it's still waiting on a truck ride to the dealership.

Hello fellas! I put down a deposit for a white TRD OR on 4/21/22 when a sales woman contacted me about an allocation they have that will be arriving between 5/5-5/10. The sales lady told me on Monday, 5/2 that my Tacoma "hit the rail". Does that mean it left the port in Texas on the way to the dealership? I'm in Illinois by the way. It makes me really anxious because I really need the truck to come before I move out of town on 5/25. Thoughts? Just a very impatient and anxious customer trying to get comfort from his fellow Tacoma owners/purchasers haha

[QUOTE="Time is money, I'd rather pay in time at the moment.[/QUOTE]

I agree except for me, at this particular time I am the other way around. If you would have asked me a year ago if I would pay over MSRP I would have laughed. Now I am in desperate need of a truck and the used ones are selling at a higher inflation than brand new trucks. I guess because you can buy and drive and with new you have to wait a while.

same her my last update on the app was march 23rd. My only guess is its just sitting in a rail car somewhere, or the app isn't working. I only have 2 miles and the truck was built on march 10th.

I don't think they disconnect them. I worked as a switchman for several years for railroad that handled a lot of auto racks. Occasionally, when coupling up a cut of cars, we'd make a hard coupling and it would set off a whole bunch of car alarms. It's tight quarters inside a loaded auto rack too, would take awhile to reconnect all those batteries. Where are you moving to?

Most likely not. I worked as a switchman for several years for a RR that handled auto racks. We'd make a hard coupling every so often and it would set off a bunch of car alarms.

I dont think there is anyone that is happy about it but sometimes you have to do things your not happy about. A lot of it has to do with people looking for a new truck because they want one vs need one.

And there's nothing to say that MSRP won't "be market adjusted" in the future, to give the dealer the ability to offer a "discount" should the truck sit on a lot too long, and avoid the bad press / hurt feelings...

So, found my truck via the spreadsheet this morning! Reached out to the dealer, who is 2.5 hrs away in another state... he says it is available, but he won't tell me a price or discuss the cost at all unless I "come in for a test drive".

I hate to pass up the truck, but at the same time... why not tell me what the sticker is? I would hate to spend a large portion of my day and over a full tank of gas... has anyone else run in to this? I worry it's a bait n switch just to get me there - have experienced that with local dealers.

That's already a red flag for me. I'm 99.9% sure that dealer is charging a mark up. Unless you're in desperate need of a truck, keep looking. Where do you live btw?
