Our son inherited a good understanding of the importance of beginning to save early in life and to take advantage of work-provided retirement plans. He also knows that Lynn and I are members of the SKI Club - Spend (the) Kids' Inheritance Club. :D

Lynn is a CPA and has always managed our finances. She was the Chair of our Family Finance Committee, and I was a non-voting member. She use to say, if we do this right, we'll have more money to spend in retirement then we do now. She was right. Life is good, my friend.

And a huge salute and Good Morning to you, Rob!!!

You know I knew...had to yank your tail feathers a bit. ;)
My Kristi, while not a CPA, has worked in acctg, book keeping, & HR most of her career, when she wasn't accounting for the boys. ;)
Quick story: I've always been a lead from the gut feel kind of guy. It just is who I am; maybe why I did alright working C2 Ops all those years...take input, analyze on the fly, give directions...simplified obviously. So Airman Anderson never gave much thought to a checkbook so long as the numbers were positive. We get married, make my check acct our check acct. Statement comes (in the mail  IKR?) and Kristi sits down with it and starts figuring on the backside...I ask, "whadya doin'...she looks back sideways and says "balancing the checkbook", I reply "good, you should probably be in charge of that." And she has been for almost 38 years.

... but I never stood in the 1st Sgt's office for a bad check or any money issue.;)

Thankful for the Air Force and my wife. I'd be lost without them.

Have a great day, Mark. Huge salute back. :hattip:

Supposed to rain here all weekend, starting today.

I started using the 2 cuft bags of mulch 3 years ago. Might cost a little more but so much easier.

Mark: Cutting like a pro now. All you need is a stick picker and a trash can on board to pick up the trash along the road instead of getting off the mower to pick it up.

A little rant this AM! AMAZON: I ordered a box of pellets for $21, on Sunday, a really decent price. Get home yesterday from the Toyota dealer and I had a notice from Amazon, order cancelled due to technical difficulties. WTF! Went on to the Amazon site and the box of pellets are now at the $29 regular price. Kind of pissed but I understand. I thought I had a decent deal.

So yesterday I spent a lovely day with my sister. She too delivery of a 2022 Rav4 Hybrid. The new vehicles are loaded with tech and hers is an SE trim level with some package upgrades to technology. Pictures below.

Today I am taking the wife to the airport. She is spending a girls week in Savannah with friends and SIL. After that it is off to Costco for a few items then back home.

    Bags, man!:pccoffee:
Love the RAV4. We like ours too.
We got 0.30" last night, and only some random hail. All the big hail thankfully went elsewhere. And, starting today, it will be 99*-100* everyday.

:pccoffee: Good Morning Porch Pals & Gals. Working off the list today, and not one thing on the "want to" side of things. Oh well, some more coffee, and choices will get made.

Mark, you must need a Kubota with a digger soon. Then you can just launch those pesky weeds!

Has to be the enclosed, heated, air conditioned, tinted glass cab too. Older folks have to protect themselves from the elements while doing all that work, too!

Oh yeah, add snow plow to the list. Do you have an Ag exemption for your farm?

My Taco friend with the Kubota has a "farm" in South Texas. There is a complicated "Agricultural exemption" on state and local property taxes, and federal tax. He grows sand, and weed trees at a loss. This is what I know.

Ran my quick errand for Mothers Day dinner, and decided to do the ugly chores if it's going to be over 90*, and high humidity. So I trimmed, mowed, and cleaned the pond filters. Might be to clean. The bubbler nozzle won't stay on the pipe!

Oh, I do have a homestead exemption locally. Says I live here, so I get a discount on local tax. In fact, I got to vote tomorrow to make sure the Legislature doesn't lower property deductions for Seniors. Naturally, it's worded backwards thanks to the law State Law has very weird written requirements for items on the vote. Many are plain BassAckwards.

Still Anniversary week. So dinner out at the Bistro. And the discovery that it now requires reservations for Mother's Day brunch, and we can't have one. Blueberry pancakes and mimosas at home it will be!!

Just buy it, beg forgiveness, then totally use it continuously for a week or more. Play work with it every waking hour. Then she has to convince you that you don't need it. :cookiemonster:
    ... Sir ;)
