Got my rod pod reinstalled! About time to get to some fishing! Also getting a TRD grille next week which I'm really looking forward to. Truck is starting to come to life with what I had in mind for the perfect highway/trip/exploration vehicle.



Also plan on getting my rear bumper painted. My chrome one was shot to shit so I replaced it with an unpainted eBay one. Next week I plan on taking it off, scuffing, priming, paint matching, then clear coating. I'm a serious novice when it comes to paint work so if anyone who reads this has a tip I'm all ears.

 

Looks good! I plan on doing this to mine in the next few weeks. Hope yours holds up, in my experience and from what I've heard from others and read, painting over chrome doesn't usually hold up well. But it looks like you did a really good job prepping!

 

I used this product, HyperDip on mine last summer and it's held up great so far. Might be something to try. I bought 2 cans and did about 8 very thin coats. Also bought the DipCoat spray that protects it from scratches, etc.

That is a good resource! But my goal is to get it paint matched to the truck like on the TRD Sports I think it is? I very much like paint-matched vehicles. Already had an OEM Black Grille installed after I got into an accident. My bumper now is sort of a flat black like in the picture. So far it is the last black thing on my truck that isn't the same color black as the truck itself (apart from my cap which I'm not painting due to pure laziness and the cost of it.)

 

In my 05 manual transmission I just had to use the carpet anchors that came with the X-act contour mats. Same issue you have, the holes didn't line up.

 

Kenwood 906. I installed a 2TPAM today and added a front trail cam too. Ill post a pic of them.

I put some new coilovees on ...dobinsons ims 352 springs...mate..

 

The only advise I can give is be patient. Light coats. Don’t want to have runs. And also wipe it down before painting with either alcohol or they have a special degreaser that is high in alcohol as well.

 

I just filled up yesterday. From the light on, +17.5 gallons = $74 @ $4.25/gal

 

Cheapest near me is $3.59/gal

 

Gas is still $5.50 here in CA. Cost me over $100 to fill my tank yesterday

 

I dont think it got to $5+ here in VA. Maybe for premium..
