Get me the hookup on some 2hp capable VFDs so I can run a damn Bridgeport mill at home cause I'm too cheap to pay for them to run 3 phase even though it's available in my neighborhood.

Hmm, lemme ask my buddy for a picture of what's on his mill motor. He's got a rotary phase converter otherwise I'd ask him for VFD specs.

Why not get a rotary converter probably get one new sub 1k.

idk if you need to run a VFD to do what you need, seems unnecessary

It just saves me from having two very noisy things on at once. But yeah I could probably build a rotary phase converter myself. I have access to lots of 3ph motors just not many 1ph to spin the fuckers.

Hey, that's why you discuss ALL the possibilities right out the gate. Dunno how much you dealt with but I'm going on 14+ yrs, with a break somewhere in there, and .. having both been through someshit we'd still rather finish life together. Than not

Yeah they are loud. Use to run one at the restaurant because the owner got all 3phase mixers lol

But i feel like it will last you longer and be less of a headache then trying to run a drive.

Drive might be more appropriate for a lathe anyway, be hard to switch directions on a dime with a drive.
