One thing to remember on 2005 Tacos. If I recall correctly, here was an engine mount issue where a weldment on the frame tended to collapse if you did a lot of off roading. A good hit to the engine might cause the same problem. There were some aftermarket brackets to fix this issue as I recall. Anybody help me here?

i think it’s worth more in parts than it is to fix it.

2005, so it doesn't have side curtain airbags and only the driver steering wheel airbag went off, so it's at least minimal costs to replace ONE airbag...

The rest of it, yes it could go either way with the insurance company on deciding to total it since the core support looks to be mangled.

The Tacoma (and every used car) is worth a LOT these days and replacement costs are really high. If a 2014 supercharged Baja with aftermarket suspension (~$3k upgrade) and so on sells for about $30k with 90k miles... I'd guess your stock base model/SR5 from 2005 is worth somewhere around $15k on the used market. Insurance will probably think it's worth about $7k, but that's not reality.

    Good luck.

    Adjuster valued it at 17k.
No frame damage just one of the main mounts.
It’s getting fixed. Thanks all of y’all

I would really take a good long look at that frame. 05 and there is no rust? Or was it already replaced prior to the accident?

Man you wouldn’t believe, nor could I, the condition this thing was in when I bought it two years ago. Absolutely spotless: no rust or any accidents, and one owner. Dealership told me an older woman bought it brand new from them then traded it in 15 years later. Vehicle history reports confirmed this

Not a thread but a recent post I saw the other day regarding collapse prevention and recommended replacements.

That is a nice color. Bold. Everything is so muted and safe today, except electric lime.
