Is it me, or does the delay in traffic signals get longer with warmer weather?? Weird. :ballchain::bananadead:

Do you guys have that traffic signal law for motorcycles? Where you can run the red after a certain amount of time?

Good question. Not sure. But seeing as how we don’t have lane splitting, I’m gonna assume no. :annoyed:

Two cycles in WA... which has always made me wonder like, if it's late at night and it never cycles, how do I judge what two cycles is?

Then I say fuck it and run it if assuming it's clear.

Colorado doesn’t have a time or cycle requirement, just that the light doesn’t change and the motorcycle can then treat it like a four way stop. Regardless of what the laws are in the state I’m riding in I usually give it one full cycle before saying fuck it and safely crossing the intersection.

I don’t know what the law is here (I should probably look it up though), but my town specifically people treat traffic laws as “suggestions” and tend to drive like assholes. Passing on the shoulder, into oncoming traffic lanes and running red lights and stop signs regularly. It absolutely chaps my ass but that’s just the culture here and cops don’t really care. I follow the laws when I’m in the truck but tend to take a few more liberties when I’m on the bike. It’s still always an exercise in defensive riding.

Kansas is the same as Colorado, a motorcycle can break a light if you have waited and there way is clear. I do it 1/3 of my mornings on the way to work.

Same! Can't understand why SO MANY lights seem to be unresponsive to, you know, actual traffic patterns? My town is big (for a town) and they continue to add lights to various intersections because the gen-pop is getting dumber/less alert by the day. Naturally, those lights have folks sitting idly by while it turns green for non-existent traffic on a regular basis.:frusty: I have been impressed with the roundabouts I utilize on my way to work and wonder why more places don't utilize them... rant over!

PA finally put in place a "dead red" law. If the light isn't sensing a motorcycle sitting there and triggering a change you may treat it like a stop sign. I think it specifies 2 minutes but will need to check. There is one on my way to work that does this about 2 of every 5 days.

When I was in Colombia, most the cops around town were 2 up on a mid size enduro like that. They would roll up and the guy on the back would be off almost before the bike stopped. They could get anywhere, fast. They did not mess around with weather the space was street, sidewalk, alley, or even stairs.

We need to go Brushy Mtn Motor Sports Park before it gets too hot. I've never been but have heard great things about it.
