I'm definitely down for a longer ride if there's interest, and we can definitely do some shuttling to make it easier too. I've done 30-40 mile days at KT in the past and those will beat you up, but they're worth it.

I didn't have the legs at the time to get up to Stormin' Norman so canned it half way up, but I was also riding with some pretty fit guys at the time who pushed the pace. As @BadDNA said, it is a great opportunity to sit in a high gear and spin away.

This is starting to sound more like a ride for my Bronson CC and less like one for the Timberjack.

@guitarjamman - Have you seen the new trail on the mountain, Buttertubs?

Our group decided to skip it in favor of Moose Deuce and Moose Alley, and climb Butter Tubs back up to Victory Road. From what I remember, it would be a great down hill run as it was smooth. You should definitely bring out the big bike for a long day if we can make something happen!

I have mentioned to @Pugga, if my wife and kid are joining for the camping experience, they know this is a biking trip first and foremost and would leave me alone for the days and post ride beers (which is something that is extremely hard to come by now) - I can go out for an 8 hour ride and not be bothered. Coming up and having free reign to ride bikes, I definitely want to get some miles in and hit the downhill runs as much as possible. Darling Hill is definitely a good side - and something I'd love to ride as well (maybe two if we do a morning and afternoon run - looking at sidewinder and some laps at the skills park ), but Burke Mountain and the eastern side of Kingdom has in my opinion, the best downhill runs. Those types of trails don't exist unless you get up into the mountains. As you remember, here in central MA, there are good trail networks and places to have a good run (just did Lincoln Woods yesterday with @Pugga), but unless we go northwards, I can't ride a 10 minute, 2 mile long downhill trail.

I hear you. How about we start off with some Burke Mountain and Moose Haven riding on Saturday morning, maybe transition into some White School area trails for the afternoon to get back to town, then do a Darling Hill ride on Sunday morning before everyone heads back home.

That would be great - if its a slop fest and raining, may have to reconsider and re plan. But would be ideal to use Saturday to get the climbing and long ride in while everyone has fresh legs, and go over to Darling Hill Sunday for a more mellow ride.

Happy Mother’s Day to all of the TW/MTB ladies out there!
My wife wants to go crank out miles on her speed machine, so I’ll suffer by taking the girls mountain biking. F472A510-08F9-498B-91FE-9816B587A3FC.jpg

It's pretty nice. You're right, some of the single-tracks there are very rocky! We usually just stick to the smoother ones and get distance in from the fire road loop.

Yes! I'd liken Millstone to Central VT's version of 'Vietnam' in Milford MA.

Just did a Vietnam blast this morning, that place is a lot of fun but those rocky climbs start hurting toward the end!

up up up, down down down. That ride elevation profile is quite telling!

Did a pretty good rip at Vietnam today. No sustained climbs, but the punchy ones start adding up quickly.
