Evening all:
Home heating oil just jumped $1.00 a gal., it's now $5.899.

 

Between lumber prices and the cost to heat huge homes the days of the McMansion may be numbered.

 

We don’t want to get into the science of manure but I do know from my late uncle that most processed compost manure has been baked to kill the smell, tame the acid, and kill the seeds.

$6.20 here

 

Everything that’s been built here in the last 5 years are 4 story “townhomes”. The garage is the first floor, the kitchen is 2 stories up, and they’re only 1800 sq. ft.

Probably the fuel oil guys in town are $6.00+, they are usually 10-15c a gal. higher than my supplier.

Here's a little about my mom...Marcella.
To her friends and family she was Marcy.
Born 1/16/24, passed 7/16/16. She raised 6 of us. 4 boy's and 2 girls. I really don't know how she did it, especially with 4 boys!

 

On another note...golfing today at Stone Hedge in Tunkhannock.
Then driving to Ocean city MD. Playing Baywood Greens tomorrow Nutters Crossing on Tuesday and Links at Lighthouse Sound on Wednesday.

Happy Mothers Day! Mom was born in 1922 and passed away in 2012. I was the youngest of six! Two sisters, three brothers. All of us, like Dad, were very ADHD! Mom just wanted quiet time to read a book, but not with that brood.

Moms... we all know how special they are.

Mine was Dora-Jane with a hyphen. Bunnie to everyone. Born April 1916 and took flight in 1992. Smart, smart, smart woman, interested in everything and doing her best to instill curiosity and a love for the world in her children. I was her black sheep and am sorry for that, but I think she would be pretty content with the present me. I miss her and wish I could have a conversation with her now, as a more mature person. Happy Mother's Day...

Off to the garden center this morning. Hanging baskets, container plants and herbs on sale today.

 

I wonder about the extra .9 cents added to the cost of a gallon of gasoline and heating oil. I doubt the dispensers are that accurate. I think it is just a way to take a little more money out of people's pockets. Many folks ignore that extra cent on the price.

 

When was the last time you bought one gallon of gas? That 0.9¢ per gallon works out to 18¢ per tankful.

 

America uses about 135 billion gallons of gas a year. That .9 times 135 billion adds up to a shit load of $$$. It’s going somewhere. With the prices of fuel I’d rather that 18 cents a tank stay in my pocket than go where I suspect it’s going. It all adds up.
