    You're okay.

04A72 (2018 MT) *may* be an issue. So incidentally, if anyone reads this and they're on A72 or know someone who is, with an EROM tune file (all Magnuson tunes are EROM for example), and they're fine, I'd like to know.

Right. So that's why a long time ago I'd asked people in the Maggy thread if they were to update their ECU, if they could reach out to Magnuson to get the updated tune file for their new ECU ID, because I'd prefer for people to feel comfortable by having that option available to them if they ever felt it was necessary.

I got told by a few people that they'd successfully updated their ECU versions and received the updated tune from Magnuson, but the more I looked into it, the responses seemed to become more sporadic. Here and there, people reported unresponsiveness from Magnuson, others seemed doubtful about Magnuson helping and it was nearly unanimous that people wanted to retain their Maggy tune as a back up.

So if it is not guaranteed that Magnuson will provide the updated tune file for everyone, then I'm sort of left to try to help you guys out by building additional tunes. This requires more effort for sure, and as I stated, there's a few ecu's I just won't support.

I heard about the potential issue with 04A72 awhile back from another tuner, and it's entirely possible that it was an isolated incident, or that it's been resolved since then. I just don't know.

Situations like these are why all YotaWerx tune customers receive a helpful tune guide supplement document, for all of the vehicles that we support. We started this back in January, and it covers things like sources to get Toyota Techstream, basic flash procedure, steps to take to avoid bricking your ecu, and ECU recovery methods.

With how robust the VFTuner flash software has become (it's really come a long way), I wouldn't worry about it. For anyone really.

VFTuner, most obd code readers, or by looking at the file name for the provided tune from Magnuson. Or Techstream

You need an OBD tool and software / app like Carista or OBD Fusion. Some handhelds at autoparts stores can pull ECU IDs.

My suggestion is to allow the discount for everyone that pays in full within the first 24 hours (or other timeframe) of the release. There’s a lot of people that have been patiently waiting for this and would suck to get screwed if you didn’t stay awake to be in the first 10 or you live in the wrong coast where the clock would start ticking.

It would be less chaotic and more fair (in my opinion) to allow the discount to run for anyone that pays in full within a period of time (24hrs, 12 hrs, etc.) instead of a very limited number of tunes available at first come first serve. That would avoid people that just came up accross the thread the day before the release to get ahead of someone that has been involved waiting for many months.

    My two cents.

Random, but my business partner intends to attend Overland Expo that same weekend as the SC tune release. His name is Christian. Our Phoenix, AZ networked tuner Justin (Mobile Antics) will also be out there. Stop by and say hello!

Or pre-orders both tunes to the tune of 550.

But in all honesty I’m prepared to jump through whatever hoops makes life easiest for mZiggy. If we need to wait, we wait.

Updated to include revision of promotional pricing upon launch based on community suggestion, as well as some specifics required for obtaining the tune.

Could we inquire about the waiver and have it filled out before hand to try and help you guys out to speed up the process? Is this something that you send a document to us directly or is there a link to a website where I can download the doc and have it filled out and ready to go for the launch day?

If you want us to wait til launch day, that's cool too. Just whatever is easiest for you all, because I know you're gunna be dealing with a mad rush come 7am your time, and probably all day. Lol

I don't think anyone with a MT reached out yet.

Yeah it had already occurred to me that people would inquire about filling out the waiver ahead of time and that's something that we can do. It's a document we send you.

When our website is finally up, we'll probably link it for easier availability.

Well in the meantime, you can send in an email regarding the waiver ahead of time if that's something you'd like to do.

I'll try to get it to you when spare time allows if you send in an email. I've got a full day of cases at work today. My business partner and I both work full time in the medical field, so our schedules can fill up quickly.

If anyone in the Wash DC, Virginia, Maryland area needs help with this let me know. I can help with ECU id and Tune update. I literally changed my tune on the Dyno between runs (5 minutes) and the techs were very impressed with the quick change option (and the change in output!).
