My company bought some new display cases for the shows they go to. Asked me If I wanted the old one and of course I took it. Glass shelves with lights. Already have a sign to cover up the company logo at the top. Just need to get rid of the shipping case it came with. First pic is of it laying down in the shed for now.

It is a cool case but I don’t need it. Put it on the New England buy and sell page for free but no interest.

Thoughts for display cases. When you see a store closing in your area stop in and ask about their display cases. I did that a few years back and came home with 2 glass display cases with wood bases on wheels from a Hallmark store in our local mall for $50. Each one holds about 75 1/24 scale models. They were taking offers for the fixtures while the store was closing.

Depends on how many cars you have. Those hold 6 cars so you would need a lot of them for a big collection. I see cases like the ones I have but not the same size. I think they are 7 x14? So 98 cars each. You also have to have the walls to hang them on. If and when I can actually make a hot wheels room I like to have one made that will take up a good portion of the wall I want to hang it on.

I have a lot of those 1/64 clear plastic cases Kilo Charlie is talking about ordering. The price isn't bad if you can find a way to display them. I often set those to the side because their size doesn't work well with what I collect and display the car in larger cases like what William 63 was posting. The initial purchase price is a lot, but they were well worth it after all the years I have had them. You keep them closed you only have to dust maybe once every 5 years and they look great. I have them for 1/64 , 1/43 and 1/24 scale. When I built my house in 1999 I ordered them. I think they were $75 a piece back then which seemed like a lot.

The cases I am looking at are $1.66 each ordering them in bulk for 132 of them in a case. I actually have a great way to display them as they fit quite nicely inside the display case that I built and I have another project that I hope to work on this coming week to display more boxed ones. I was just curious if that was the cheapest bulk place to buy from or if there was something I was missing.

If they fit nice in the case you made then I would buy them. Bet that would look nice. Not sure about buying them elsewhere. That’s something to think about for me. Make the case the size I need then put these cases in each spot. Hmmm…..

The nice thing about these plastic cases is that they stack on top of each other nicely too.. when I get home I will get some pictures
