Thank you Zim! I shot this with my Canon R6 paired with the Canon RF 24-105 f4 lens. That’s my go-to hiking lens that replaced my Sigma 24mm f1.4 ART lens as I am fairly comfortable handholding a 1 second exposure shot with this combo.

It’s a nice, peaceful garden indeed even with lots of visitors. Portland has definitely changed within the last decade since I’ve moved back home but still has a lot to offer in and around the area.

I’ve followed some of the photographers who shoot in Iceland every year. The thing most have in common is the use of @volcanopilot as their air platform. Everyone knows who knows him felt a part of his family.

A few days ago, his Cessna went missing. Over a thousand people helped in the search. The plane was found with all four souls perished in about 50 meters of water.

It’s like Iceland lost an ambassador. So many people have seen Iceland from the air guided by him and may not even realize. He was an amazing photographer too. Take a wander over to IG and check his page out.

    Haraldur Diego was Volcano Pilot.

Shoulda posted images here... so this is kinda a double post...

Found the Wild Mustangs on the Salt River in the Tonto National Forest last week. Got real close to them - then it was mayhem...

Some really nice pictures/photos here. I’m not a photographer, but
Love it as a hobby. Here’s a some of my recent ones. I also like to build my own frames for them.

Seeing some of the examples on here make me wish I had more free time to take more pictures.. I'd also like to learn how to get out of my comfort zone and take pictures of something else other than cars and night pictures. I usually find myself taking the same style image (angles and detail shots) but with a different car or subject lol.

Here's a few random collection of pictures I've taken in the past..

Good images. I think all of us want to bust up our comfort zones and do something different for me it's opportunity.
I don't have anything interesting to shoot 'city-wise' when you live in the desert you got 'desert' stuff and that's about it.

Portrait and still-life stuff is boring to me ( other than super cool landscapes ).

Can't find a scantily clad babe to let me take some images so that's out.

What to do what to do LOL

One way to mix up what you're shooting - I did Gettysburg awhile back (posted here in the forum) - but what made things interested to me, I used my 50mm f/1.8 for all of it. We can take unique photos of the same shit we see every day by limiting our options in gear.

So - walk around your area and see what you'd do with only one focal length.

Exactly - just yesterday I slipped on my 35mm f1.4 and shot some flowers in a flower bed - turned out nice. I also pull out the Tokina 11-16 f2.8 now and again
for landscape type stuff and milky way photography.

Okay Guys, I need some input and help I am ditching my Cannon camera and looking at the Nikon D750 since it is within my budget $1,500-$2,000 or should I go with the D780? I will be using this for mainly outdoor (auto racing) sporting events and some indoor/outdoor all around use. I don't have a ton of experience outside of general Photography but I do want to expand my horizons possibly. My goal is to get about 10/15 yrs out of the camera.

Also looking at lenses 24–85mm for versatile use and a somewhere in the range of 200-500mm f/5.6E ED VR telephoto lens for general use....

Maybe look at your cannon first. I think we can agree most cameras are pretty good and would meet the requirements you have described.

    I’d probably pick a 24-105 as a walk around lens and either the 70-200 f2.6 or 100-400 f4.5.

But let’s hear what you already have. Could be better to tweak rather than wholesale upgrade.

edit: Lenses are the thing you will be most invested in. Cannon has changed mounts in their mirrorless systems but adaptors are available.

That's not a terrible camera. But by comparison to today's, definitely "less capable".

I would get the best camera I could afford. The 780 is only slightly better than the 750 so I'd probably look at a D850 vs the D750. Tho it's about 2x the price, it's so much better. Have you considered used?

I have looked at used but they seem to be only about $200 bucks less so I will go with new at that price point.
