Verizon sure knows what they are doing. I am due for upgrade in a couple weeks and dont want to pay for a data plan as I wont use it enough to justify 30 bucks a month. The non smart phones are horrible. I would like a nice cool looking phone with wifi and a decent camera, but dont want to pay for data. 3 phones on a family plan $90 for data. I cant see this. If only one of us get a data plan, then everyone will want it. If I get the limited $10 data I'm afraid of running over. Basically I feel like I cant win. Maybe I need to consider another carrier? At&t sucks from what everyone tells me. End rant.

So is 75mb of data enough to do basic email, check the weather forecast or sports score occasionally? Considering the use of wifi mixed in, I think I would be fine with paying $10 for that. But I have a teenage step daughter and know that she would run it over. And if I have data, she will have to have it too. My wife says she doesn't care if she has data, but again if I have it, well, you get the picture.

So is anyone else in the same boat or have any input? I guess I'm going to end up with another phone that I am not really happy with from the looks of it.

The $10 data is worthless. I can open a browser and go to a web page (after using google) and thats about it before I run over.

get a sprint unlimited plan if coverage is provided in/for your area. sprint is relatively cheap, and has decent customer service.

I only have one phone and have no need for a smart phone. And I refuse to pay for a cell phone. That's leaves me really crap to pick from. I have waited 1/2 year to get a new phone. The money they chargw, data should be free IMO.

I broke my Blackberry on accident about 3 weeks ago and got a Samsung Instinct HD and what a POS that thing was! I got so pissed off at it I stabbed it with a screw driver 6 times and drilled holes through it...did I over react, maybe...but when I tell my phone to do something it better well fuckin do it

I'm proud to say that as of yesterday Blackberry and I have been reunited :D

In a typical month I use anywhere from 300-400mb in data usage. I'm not even a heavy facebook user. I barely ever check that on my phone. The rest goes to other websites, email, apps

The cell phone business is about as corrupt as used car sales or probably worse. Other countries don't require users to be locked in a contract for 2 years, as far as I see it a smart phone is not really a necessity unless it is for business use. Why should a cell phone cost $300.00 to $500.00 bucks when you can get a laptop for $399.00 or less. and the laptop does more. I understand it is all about supply and demand but these cell phone providers know that they can stick it to us no matter what and we will all just go back for more.
