Yes Im supercharged and have a new tune. Not the stock Maggy V7.
It felt exactly how you explained it like fuel was cut. No codes or limp in mode. Ive had that happen before once when the engine was cold. Has not happened since. I take it easy while the engine is cold.

Is it a new updated tune from Magnuson then?

If not, I believe I know what tune you're referencing. We've got someone who got that tune and did not like it, who then came to YotaWerx, and a couple inquiries from a couple others. From what I've seen of their NA tunes from datalogs that people have felt had issues and independently asked me to review, it's entirely possible that something else is up.

Without knowing more though, it's a lot of speculation from this point forward.

However, if this tuner provided you this tune and then told you that you'd be running lean up high, that is frankly irresponsible of them to allow it to run that lean, and to allow you access to that rpm band where it would run lean...

    Just saw this edit.

WRT cold engine, there's a table we use that allows us to limit the torque limits based upon rpm and engine coolant temperature. This is implemented so that people don't try to redline/boost while the engine is not yet warmed up and send a rod through their hood

This happened on the Stock V7 tune. I was going up a hill and it lost power and my dash lights up like a Christmas tree. Pulled over and turned it off and back on it went away. Later I scanned it and had lots of random misfire codes. Has not happened since.

Okay so yeah, this is misfire and limp mode.

Glad to hear it hasn't happened to you since.

Luckily, these Tacoma's have robust safety systems. I went into limp mode from misfire 3x when dialing in my Twin Turbo tune with OV. Pull over and cycle power and drive away.

@virginiamarine Saw your gauges on the dyno run in the Yotawerx string, and wonder how you like your gauges? I had decided against the AEM, as I thought the colors would not look good with the cluster; Boy was that a wrong assumption, as they look great on your truck! Do they dim at night? I wonder if you would share how you wired them so they dim, and where you tapped into the truck?

Yeah, I opted for these simply because it all came as a package with both gauges and had a good reputation. I also liked the gauge bracket that I saw someone else use (found it on Amazon of course). The most difficult part was the hose to the SC since I didn't already prep for that, but getting to it from the passenger side made it a lot easier. I also don't weld, so I had to get that done by the mechs. I didn't set it up for dimming, so I can't speak to that. I "add a plug'd" it to the mini fuse block under the steering dash. I'll take pics and show you later today.

Looking for someone preferably in the northern Virginia area that is willing to test fit a new part. I'm working with YotaWerx to get a port fuel rail manufactured for turbo and supercharger applications to help resolve the issues with lean port fueling.

I will have a prototype fuel rail in the very near future (printing it now). I modeled this for a factory intake manifold specifically for the Turbo application, but I would like to develop something that will fit the Superchargers as well. Given that the intake manifold runners are replaced on the Supercharger install, I need to check to see if a revision needs made in order to fit your set up.

This will require a partial de-install of your supercharger. The blower and intercooler will both need removed in order to get to the intake runner. Any lost coolant will be provided. I will assist if needed in any deinstall/reinstall. I will need to be physically present at a minimum for the test fitment of the fuel rail and to record any measurements for revision.

I need it disassembled down to here basically:

I can send you the manifold if that will work? Or send me the part.

That would help a little but I suspect I'll need to install the rail and then test fit the intercooler and blower for vertical clearance. In the pictures it appears that the magnuson runners are shorter, and this rail is slightly taller.

I can send that, too. All is on the shelf awaiting install, so easy peasy to pack it up and send it your way.

That might actually work.... I have mine torn down to the runners already and can mock it on my engine. We can use that as a plan B if no one local is able to do it. I'll need to check and make sure those 3 parts are all I need.

Magnuson TVS1900 Supercharger with 87mm pulley, Catted OVTune dumptubes, Doug Thorley 2.5in y-pipe, custom mufflers, 76mm Tundra throttle body, 5.29 Yukon gears, JamesT custom fuel rails, Yotawerx 87mm tune, Eibach Pro Truck Stage 2 suspension. And some other stuff.
Why not develop a solution based on Meth injection? I know Magnison doesn't suggest injecting meth before the screws but there are numerous accounts of people doing that. Or if that is not an option what about injecting meth above the intercooler? The tune can then be adjusted to account for the meth injection and possibly allow for a smaller pulley.

It's not so much an issue of running lean as it is an issue of an imbalance in fuel. Some injectors get way more fuel than others, so even if you make your AFR richer with meth, you will still have one side leaner/richer than the other. Basically the last two injectors in the port fuel rail are running lean because the first 4 are taking the majority of the fuel. Meth is just a bandaid.

The intent is to fix this by feeding both rails individually in parallel. It will also allow a crossover at the end of the rails, or even a way to run a return system if you so desire.

That was my misunderstanding of what you were trying to achieve. Thanks for the clarification.

To clarify, the water meth kit won’t even out bank to bank fueling which is why @mZiggy is trying to address this.

Snow performance 2.5 proline kit is going in on Saturday along with 84mm pulley if possible.
