Probably another 4 weeks. Hoping her pain clears up soon.

 

Anybody ever installed one of these door closers? Customer gave it to me as is with no instructions, what’s the secret(s)?

 

building metal exit door. Any brand name? Looks like 1/3 way from hinge side to metal lip

 

Yeah I don’t think this one will work, we don’t have a metal door or casing and it’s the old school ones that is deeper. Plus it’s a wooden storm door.

 

Its more industrial use

Last one I installed at the fairgrounds came with the door, and had a template locating it. I can measure it on Wednesday, but it's a metal fire door, with a bigger unit (Hehhhh… he said, "unit") than that, so might not be totally relevant.

 

Really, around here that would be a smoking deal (assuming it's in good shape). Tell you what... I'll buy someone a cheap lathe and ship it south, someone down there buy me a cheap cap and send it north?

 

I think it’s cheap too, I sold the other one for $1,400, paid $1,000 for it.

 

So you'll still be in the black after you buy it!

For some inane reason a lot of industrial door hardware will have no manufacturers mark on it -- maybe a sticker when new with the same ink auto parts stores use when printing your "lifetime warranty with receipt" that fades in 6 weeks when exposed to oxygen.
