That’s awesome! I noticed all the coffee was locked up behind the registers at the supermarket. Must be some fire shit haha We will be in old San Juan tomorrow so we will try to grab lunch there since it looks like it’s in that area.

Yea, I saw the vids of that in action. Seemed to work pretty awesome. Helped Noah change a axle out on Gold Bar once, didnt want to come out easy and was being a PITA. That would have been nice.

Sweet, i bought a place in Isabella with friends back in the 90’s spent a lot of time there when i lived on the east coast. Flights were only $99 back then so we went a lot during the winter to surf. Damn i miss the food

That’s pretty rad. The food is great. This is our first flight with the toddler, so we wanted to test the waters before going out of the country. Not to mention the rona restrictions coming BACK to the US. I can’t risk being stuck in another country if one of us tests positive for months on end…PR is treated like a state in that regard so no requirements to enter or leave.

Traveling with a kid and pregger wife is freaking intense. We used to hop around a dozen plus countries in no time and no problem. Not anymore haha

We’re about to head to old San Juan now. Wife was looking at that last night. We might venture out to other parts of the island later in the week. Any suggestions?

Old San Juan? San Se was a blast!!

If its not unbearably hot...I really enjoyed walking around the fort. Lots of space to spread out away from everyone else.

Check out el Yunque forest. Spent some time there. Pleasant change from the heat in the cities.

For sure go...worth it. Check online and avoid the touristy areas. I didn't do that the first day and it was hectic with the camera. Next day just went walking and left the camera at home and was MUCH more enjoyable.

Very pretty. How much hiking? We’ve got a stroller, but I can carry her for a few miles if need be. Hard to tell how rough trails are online.

Ahhh...not really stroller friendly. Maybe La Mina (busy) trail, but you'll need a roof-top kid hauler on your back. Trail is steep but maintained.

No worries. I’ve tried one of those backpack carriers and it was worse than just holding her on my hip haha I walked a few miles on some steep mountain stuff like that a couple weeks ago and it wasn’t bad.

I need to get my passport….

Also, finished up my first glass install yesterday to go with the new JD fab front end. Like most things took a lot of time, effort, and minimal frustrations. But I’m happy with the outcome. It’s all slowly coming together.

I seriously can’t believe how stout this bumper is. Idc how they are built, you always have some deflection in them. But with tying into the lower pivots with 1.5x.188 is a serious game changer. I’m talking ZERO noticeable deflection regardless of what you do. IMO the pivots are worth this alone.

As an update to the whole “losing brakes” thing, I thought that the tundra rack with decreased turning radius had fixed it, until my trip this weekend. There was enough deflection in what I assume was the rack/frame for the banjo bolt to make contact with the secondary shock tab again and lose my brakes again.

My fix will be to grind down the secondary shock tab ~1/4” to gain some more clearance and go from there.

I’m only sharing for posterity and to get info out there, I’m not upset at all. Anyone not running the slide rack should keep an eye out for this and imo carry a spare banjo bolt because it’s cheap insurance. I’ll share pics tomorrow if I remember.

    Too many to remember
This is only an issue if you have the wheel cranked to full lock and are heavy on the throttle in 4 low... which is a bad idea in any case because it puts so much strain on the pump and steering components.

Ideally for the type of wheeling you do you would have a steering box with internal stops and a ram that has stops in the same position. Doing so will prevent the hydraulic pressure from the pump forcing things past where they should go. Steering line pressure is no joke and something that rack and pinion owners need to be very, very aware of.

For guys with the slide rack that do your type of wheeling we have made shaft collars that slip over the slide rack shaft and limit steering angle. The same goes for guys with the monster brake kits.

Moral of the story is be mindful of the steering when full lock and back off to prevent damage
