What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

when turning on the map lights do they stay the color you left them at? My dome light stays red if I turn them off that way but my map lights turn on white regardless of how I leave them.

 

Installed some sumo springs to the rear after a few hard hits of the OEM bumps stops. We will see how they preform tomorrow on the first drive. Question for those whop have installed them are they supposed to ride on the frame?

 

I pushed them into the headliner as I slowly moved them side to side. So far so good.

 

It is indeed. I was skeptical at first when I placed my deposit, but seeing it in person was totally worth the wait.

 

Yes my map lights stay the same. There was an apparent mechanical issue with the original dual color map lights that required double pressing the color switch twice to change the light color, but they would atleast stay red when you turned your truck on.

Meso tried to fix that double press issue by redesigning the switch which inadvertently removed the "color memory" on the most recent map light batch. There's a thread below that discusses this issue.

I bought a set off a fellow TW user which do retain their red color but do require double presses to change back to white, which to me, isn't a big deal.

Do you mean there is no clearance between the frame and the sumo spring?

 

Went to the local dealer today and had an actuator installed so the lift gate locks and unlocks with the key fob. Dude I bought the truck from lost the tailgate lock key, and this little mod for $125 bucks was a great option.

Got there and saw the price they wanted for an oil change and told them to go ahead and do it. They charged $70 bucks. I hadn't changed it yet, mostly because I couldn't find 0w-20 for less than 80 bucks. Having the dealer do it saved me some coin this time.

Not done yet, but got a call from my guy....my Icon stage 4 arrived with the exception of the rear shocks. Hopefully tomorrow I can pick it up and get to work on the install

 

How do you get in the truck? I am only 5’8 1/2” and I have trouble getting my legs under the steering wheel with the power seat all the way down and the wheel all the way up. I couldn’t imagine what it would be like with seat jackets.

removal of visor stickers:
-heated the visor up with a small space heater,
-gently worked a corner up enough to start peeling slowly with fingernail or credit card ,
-after sticker gone glue residue left so,
-rubbed with some 50 alcohol - got some of it but, (prob could have skipped this step)
-put a clean piece of all cotton t shirt over spot and ironed it for 15 - 20 seconds, the glue will stick to the cotton piece
-one sticker had more glue so re ironed with clean piece of shirt a couple more times till it looked good,

 

The one is removable from the clear plastic sleeve. The other two on each vanity mirror cover is melted into the plastic…not removing those. I can cover it but it’s not really bothering me. I know someone here has stickers to cover them. But I don’t want to put stickers on after I just removed some of them.

 

i didnt think they were needed on pwr seats?

 

no key? how will you open a locked door if battery dead?

The key that's inside the fob opens the doors, doesn't match the tailgate.

 

This is not true of my ‘19. Fob key opens the tailgate on my truck.
I thought they did away with the separate tailgate key in a previous model year.

 

Definitely let us know. I'm considering them too, but they do seem a little bit pricey. Just am hoping they're worth it if I end up indulging

 

The tailgate on this truck was stolen a year or so ago before I bought it. Guy replaced the tailgate, but lost the key, if he ever had it. So, I had this problem. Now the tailgate and the doors lock with the remote. The tailgate also unlocks when I use the key to open the driver door. Easiest option for me.

 

Ain't gonna lose that bolt again
