    Why shouldn't they?

Can you teach a foreign language to a proficiency level that you're able to advise doctoral students?

thats usually what happens when big government regulates public education. The best thing BDR did for FL was bring back financial literacy classes to schools.
We need that nation wide so our youth know how to handle their money.

sorry for all the quotes. I’m just catching up on the day.

Since semi-retiring and having to live outta my truck due to market conditions I’ve had to save my battery for important matters like watching the Braves winning the world series and watching my Canes in the Stanley Cup playoffs. Have posted to the Hockey Trash talk thread though.

Ok, I'll give you some of those points. The Boomers (we) spoiled our kids. There's no doubt about it.
And we do live in a throwaway economy. I guess I can't expect everyone to come from the same roots that I did.
When I just logged on, whatever page it is that opens, recent off topic posts or something, there was a guy asking about a microwave oven.
A GE. I had the same problem. It was a diode that makes that thing scorch things around it. Now I could have easily bought a dozen new microwaves, but I found it fun fixing that one. It challenges the brain.

Now you can say whatever you want, and tbh, I totally get it, those numbers you throw out for tuition, healthcare, room and board are horrible. And I think my 1st semester was $1645. I forget how much the dorm was. And I didn't have the privileged of a meal card. Got busted more than once for an illegal hot-plate in my room lol. F'rs snooped under the bed and everything.

But here's my point. No matter how you want to slice it, going without while you're struggling, adds up. It's all relative. I think minimum wage was $2.15 when tuition was $1645. Call it $12 now, not sure what it actually is. That's $10K/semester for in state right. 4X+/-
So whatever. Sure, you've been brought up in a spend spend spend culture.
Does that make it right? Maybe the smart kids are breaking that mold. Check out some of the immigrants that are here from Africa.
You wanna talk about cheap. And smart.
    And good grades too.

That said, you are right though. The Boomers, we spoiled the crap out of ya. I'll give ya that.
You can hate us, say "OK Boomer", I guess. It's our fault. But if you're smart enough to see our short-comings, then you should be smart enough to fix them in your own life as they apply to you.
My kids are all doing 6 figures plus, the oldest under 30.
    I raised em right.

I'm debating whether or not I want to agree with you in principle or nit-pick your comment and argue over discrepancies.

    Go ahead and nit-pick.
I think faster than I type, so any point I make is 60% complete.

    LMAO.

When I was 12 my grandpa just got done having a little argument with grandma when he came outside. He looks at me and says "Matt, you can be married or you can be right." He was married over 70 years when he passed away.

I was 12 and kinda got what he was telling me. Then 10 years ago I got married and I truly got it. Thanks Gramps.
