We had a toboggan my dad got when he was in college in the 70's for a while. It looked like it was made out of wood from a colonial fishing ship. And my mom's sled from when she was a kid, so that would have been in the 60's. The classic black and white christmas movie sled

Timing the bottom ain't gonna happen. If its goin down, I'm buyin. If it's flat or rising, I have a time based DCA schedule.

Historically bear markets average 170 days, so if we actually get into one odds are high it lasts less than a year.

If I'm wrong, you're still fucked. DCA is foolish, but for different, and much worse reasons.

Catching up reading this thread and one thing I haven't seen mentioned in credit. This gets people of any level of education in trouble. Credit cards, I use 'em but never paid interest because that's how I was raised. I've been fortunate enough to pay cash for all my vehicles but it takes prioritizing with a frugal wife that stayed home to raise two children but daycare is expensive.
Simply put, too many people live beyond their means.
