I use the dots on all tires but especially on knobby stuff because it makes balancing so much easier. But once they are balanced it doesn't really matter...

I’ve been looking at these tires to upgrade to 35s and go back and forth between these and the trail grapplers. Just don’t know which one to pull the trigger on

    Here's my truck with 37s.
This was the first time on.
Can't really turn so I just rolled out for a photo then pulled right back into the garage :p and put the 255/85r16 back on.

How have these tires balanced for some of you guys? Today on the interstate once I got to 60-65mpg and up, my steering wheel was shaking like crazy. I’ve ran other MT’s in the past and not had them balanced this badly.

Mine are perfect. If you're having issues, try a shop that specializes in off-roading. I have had problems with chain stores not being able to balance my tires. Then, I take them to an off-road shop and they get them perfect.

Good idea. I had them mounted and balanced at discount. They usually do well. But maybe they had the new guy do it or something

As much as I like @Discount Tire , they have never been able to balance my tires once I went to 285's and 295's(at least the one in Waukesha, Wi). They have been fantastic in every other way.

Good to know. A buddy of mine that ran these on his first gen a few years back said he had no issues either. I'll probably have discount try to rebalance them this week since they are local to me and see if it improves, and it not I'll take the truck into a off-road specific shop as you suggested. Thanks for the input.

Discount is very good about rebalancing, etc, so definitely worth a try. Some of them have "road force" balancing, and that seems to be preferred for difficult tires.

Good luck! These tires have been awesome for me!

When getting them balanced the red and yellow dots help with that :pccoffee:

Mine have the yellow dots fairly close to the valve stem. I looked at that right away after reading your initial post about it.

Well after going through too many pages of this thread, I decided to pull the trigger! Got them in 35x12.50r17
    I’ll post a photo when they’re on!

At discount now getting them rebalanced. They showed me one and it has a shit load of weights on it.

They balanced out pretty well 2nd time around/ Definitely more weights on them than before, but they are smooth on the interstate now.

Are the weights all on the same side at least?

Glad to hear they got it fixed!

They are all those stick on style weights. Some are more towards the inner part of the rim and some more towards the outer. They are all behind the face of the wheel tho, if that makes sense.
