Not happy with the 265/70’s I have on my truck, ordered a set of 255/80’s this morning and should have them on next week. Here’s to hoping they clear on 1.5” lift. :fingerscrossed:

Considering going to this size from 265/70/17 instead of the 285 route to avoid dealing with chopping the cab mount. Does this size feel any more unstable/more body roll while cornering than stock/wider tire? I wouldn't normally care for the minimal difference, but my truck definitely feels a little squirrely at speed in corners with no sway bar already.

As long as they are properly aired up, they are totally fine. They are almost the same width as the factory tires.

Just in case you didn’t know, the SR5 (and I assume the SR) come with 245mm tires; not 265mm. The 255mm tires are right in between.

The only thing I see when I first saw a 255/80/17 on a newer Tacoma at the Lowes was they are really skinny and its very noticeable to me. I don't want an E rated in a 255/75 or 80 series.

Did you go from feeling sluggish to normal again? Did you gain MPG back?

Does anyone have a fitment chart for a stock 2020 OR? I want to go the "Pizza Cutter" route but my truck is 100% stock. The Cooper Maxx in LT235/85R16 seem to be very popular!

I know it’s an old post, but I have absolutely zero rubbing with 255/80/17 wildpeaks on sema wheels. Still have stock mudflaps. Running OME 887, 2” lift.

I took it off-road 3 weeks ago and cycled the suspension.

I’ve noticed no difference in MPGs, coming from 265/70/17 C load KO2s. I’m extremely happy with these wildpeaks.

Are you seeing like 17-20mpg? Also, moving to eload, do you definitely feel it?

Yes 17 city, can even do 21.5 highway if not going faster than 65.

Taller sidewall gives it a pretty smooth ride. My 265/65/17 E load KO2s were like bricks compared to these wildpeaks. I highly recommend these tires.

I overall average 16.7-17. That’s 70% highway at 70-75mph. City is between 13 and 16 depending on overall distance and between braking. Towing 2200lbs it gets 11-13 with a tailwind.
