Got my winter tires and wheels on, all I need is some snow so I could have a little fun.

Do any of you guys know where I could get center caps for my wheels???

BTW, Sorry for the quality of the pics, I used my camera phone.

Nice, what did you get? There is absolutely no, none, nada snow tires left for trucks in my state, 245/16s are gone ..... Tire Rack and Direct Tire show zippo, due to the new law up north. Glad you got em on. No idea on the caps, ebay?

It's funny you should say that i'm one of those people up north (montreal, quebec) affected by the new law. Starting next week its mandatory in our province to have 4 winter tires and because of that there little stock left accross our country. Had no idea it affected you guys too!!!

    I got Yokohama Geolander I/T 265/65/R17.

Sounds like a mandate on snow tires or something of the sort. I wouldnt worry about it, state equipment laws cannot be enforced on out of state vehicles.

    Tires look awesome!

Ok I need someone to educate me, I grew up in Michigan and now I like in NJ (where it almost never really snows). I have drivin in some not so deep snow( less than two feet) here in NJ and my AT tires have worked great (BFG A/T's). What is the real difference in a good set of AT tires like BFG all terrains and snow tires? Is it the softer compound of the snow tires is better on ice?

So... requiring people to put on snow tires will make them better drivers? I don't have snow tires and I get along just fine. Seems like a silly law but I'd be interested to see if it actually reduces accidents, seems like people just drive faster when they think they have better traction. But I suppose that is a different argument all by itself. I say forget the caps, looks fine.

Think this explains it in less than 30 seconds.

I've always runs snowies, but I find that extreme forcing everyone to buy them, now w/ TMPS, everyone has to spend at least extra $1,000 and seasonal change overs.

I could see for summer and even 'performance' all-season equipped cars, but there are plenty of quality all-seasons that while won't beat a true winter tire, they do ok in winter.

Thanks man, that's what I figured it had something to do with the compound of the snow tires. In my defense where I grew up in south east Michigan we only average 4 to 5 feet of snow. Not like what you have to deal with demoncleaner.

It's not so much with snow, but with ice.

Fucking typical. We haven't had any snow at all, so I removed the 3 80lbs cement blocks out of the back of my truck and put them back in the garage. Then 4 days later we get a foot and a half of snow.

    Gah!

At least I got to throw it in 4x4 and try activating the locker. (It was giving me funk before)

Now excuse me while I go burn out a few doughnuts in a parking lot.
