What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

AFE Rock Basher high clearance muffler. It was in 3 pcs and I did not like the quality of the clamps... leaked and moved around. I had them welded, also cut the tip about 1.5" as it was pointing on the diff. The quality of the rest is top notch. Not very loud which I love, but it does drone on the highway. Pretty bad. Oh well, its just a weekend toy.

 

Hated the pregnant Magnaflow angled rolled tip so I cut that off and replaced it with a more stock style Gibson straight cut single. Smaller diameter too.

 

Nice touch on the dimmer for that purpose.

A switch in the cab is for using the truck as a truck not a bed camper. I backup and/or get the truck In position to load something and reach down and turn on the bed lights. Having a switch in the bed is not useful for that, especially if you already have stuff loaded and now it blocks the switch. There’s nothing wrong with having a switch in both places but I would avoid a bed switch unless you only use it for bed camping so to speak.

 

Deaden the back wall and floor under the storage bin. That will help a bit with the drone.

 

I agree. I analyzed the still shot and watched a videos of the camera while driving. I wasn't that impressed with the quality of the cam. My Garmin Mini takes a better video. I think I'm going to stay with my current setup for now.

 

Don't bother with a 4WP bumper, they aren't exactly known for quality, in fact quite the opposite.

C4 makes a low profile bumper like that for all of $100 more if you don't want the bull bar or $200 if you do.

Also was gonna throw on the CBI push bar with my 30" Rigid light bar, but the damn thing doesn't work with the TRD skid, so the skid will be up for sale as soon as @RCI-Offroad has another sale.

Does anyone with a Martin roof rack have a Rough Country 40" light bar mounted? The included brackets with my light bar don't work with the rack no matter how I position them.

I will be working on mounting a 40” light bar to my Martin rack in a week or so. When I figure out how to configure it I’ll give you a shout.

The BA and BA knockoffs are at least one piece. Its a direct four bolt connection to each frame horn.



Just have to be willing to saw that plastic!

 

That is an incredible amount of light - would love to see a night time view and how far all that light throws!

I added some running boards and changed the interior lights to led. Other than that not much, not sure what else to do to be honest.

Finally installed the ARB manifold to relocate the air chuck.

Midland MXT115 GMRS radio today. I am planning on running the antenna coax on the bottom side of the prinsu cross bar to clean up the install.

 

Nothing too exciting today, oil change, rotate, air filter, pollen filter, and some fishing.

 

So FWIW I'm glad I installed them. I feel more comfortable sitting in the truck with them installed. Getting in and out is a process, ya just gotta figure out what works best for you.

 

Ended up installing Cali raised led raptor tail lights. Stoked on how they look.
