Shiiiiit guessing you never driven a BorgWarner T18/19 or NP 435 found in the old Fords. If you weren’t careful you would smash yer knuckles into the dash, shifting into 2nd or 4th the lever sometimes bottomed out on the bench seat….those were loooooong throw trannies. Tacos are down right sporty in comparison.

VW Buses were hilariously long throw too…you could get out and rotate the tires between shifts…

Yeah, don’t think the dude has any experience driving old school MT pick ups. Probably came from a “sporty sedan” scene.

You filled up and drove for few minutes doing 60-80 km/hr on a flat surface. This doesn’t show anything.

Need to see your average when your tank is done. I will guarantee you 100% it won’t be what you are showing here.

Yeah guessing! Toyotas MTs feel the right amount of ruggedness and sporty to me.

Our Chevy C70 dump had a 2 speed rear end, had to double clutch that thing, 1st gear…wind it out, clutch in, pull the button, wind that out, clutch in depress the button as you go into 2nd, repeat process through the gears…and had to be quick about it too if it was loaded down, which it was everything but.

Bought a sport for the manual transmission/ access cab combo. Traded off the scooped hood for a regular one. Don’t really need a e-locker, had one in my 02, in 180,000.00 miles used it a handful of times.

Exactly, that’s what I would call “outdated” manual transmission. My buddy’s 1990 Ferd f150 4.9L 4 spd was something that came out of a tractor hah.

I had 90 mazda b2200 MT (first vehicle and truck) and 07 mazda b4000 MT (Ford ranger), Tacoma’s transmission is fantastic in comparison. I honestly look for every excuse to go drive my truck.

    Those were horrible!

One of my ex-girlfriends had a 4 slug Ranger with a MT…thing was like driving a lawn mower. Lol!

Yup... walked right into that one. Right into it, like a big dummy.
Just to clarify, The truck drops my panties for me. sport drivers have to do theirs manually, which involves some special tools - big difference. :anonymous:

I would say it depends on what you want to do with the truck and the places you want to go. But either way you can’t go wrong!

Eventually they all come running to the sport kid. The sport kid didn't have to go running to them, nor has a court ever forced the sport kid to inform his neighbors that he mistook passed out for "yes."

Real short throw on the first gear on those. And man, you could tell when you had a passenger in because the truck dragged even more. REAL TRUCKS.
